A tonneau cover that includes a first panel and a second panel. The first panel is arranged rearward of the second panel in vehicle position when the tonneau cover is in a first position, each of the first panel and the second panel comprise a top surface and an opposing bottom surface. The first panel and the second panel are movable into a second position where the bottom surface of the first panel is juxtaposed with the bottom surface of the second panel.

A tonneau cover system, comprising: (a) a retractable tonneau cover having a plurality of interconnected panels; (b) a first retainer secured to a first sidewall of a cargo box of a vehicle; and (c) a second retainer secured to an opposing second sidewall of the cargo box, wherein the first retainer and the second retainer are substantially parallel to each other so that the tonneau cover spans between the first retainer and the second retainer; and wherein the plurality of panels each include a bearing positioned within the first retainer to guide the tonneau cover in a direction substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the first retainer.

A slat connecting system is provided for a roll-up truck bed cover comprising an array of a plurality of contiguously arranged elongated slats. The elongated slats are pivotably hinged together, wherein an elongated slat comprises a main slat body having a first elongated edge and an opposite second elongated edge, a first elongated hinge member is provided in the vicinity of the first elongated edge along its length, and a second elongated hinge member is provided in the vicinity of the second elongated edge along its length, wherein the first elongated hinge member of a slat of the array of the plurality of contiguously arranged elongated slats is configured for being pivotably interconnected to the second elongated hinge member of the adjacent slat of said array.

A bed cover for a vehicle that may be deployed electromechanically, either on demand or automatically, when a vehicle operator so desires, when predetermined weather conditions are detected, when the vehicle reaches a predetermined speed or experiences predetermined operating conditions, and/or when predetermined aerodynamic drag conditions are detected. The bed cover is deployable from a stowed configuration to one or more use configurations. These use configurations may include a traditional horizontal bed cover and/or an angled “cap-style” bed cover, with the angled bed cover providing enhanced aerodynamic drag reduction characteristics. A vehicle control module and camera, sensor, and/or stop trigger are used to ensure that is safe to deploy and use the bed cover, without negatively impacting an item, animal, or person present in the bed or rear cargo space of the vehicle.

A cover for a truck bed that can be horizontally traversed between expanded and collapsed positions is shown. Since the cover is horizontally traversed, the person manipulating the cover need not lift the cover vertically in order to reconfigure the cover between the expanded and collapsed positions. Women and elderly people who are generally not as strong as men can manipulate the cover.

The flatbed enclosure is an apparatus that provides a comfortable and secure environment within a truck. The apparatus includes a first bed cover, a second bed cover, a first side rack, a second rack, and a truck bed. The first bed cover and the second bed cover uphold the first side rack the second side rack, respectively, as well as open and close the truck bed. The first side rack and the second side rack serve as a rack to secure and uphold various items while in a retracted configuration. The first side rack and the second side rack also serve as a bench while in an extended configuration. The apparatus further includes a hydraulic locking mechanism that automatically retracts and extends the first bed cover and the second bed cover. A tonneau cover system for a vehicle includes at least two panels configured to collaboratively form a container. The at least two panels extend laterally when connected to a tonneau of the vehicle. A first panel is movable between an open position and a closed position to gain access to an interior space defined by the container. In the closed position, the first panel extends parallel to a floor of the tonneau. A second panel is selectively placed in a cover or a storage position. In the cover position, the second panel extends parallel to the floor to collaboratively cover at least part of the tonneau. In the storage position, the second panel extends perpendicular to the first panel in the closed position. The first and second panels collaboratively form the container when the first panel is in the closed position and the second panel is in the storage position.

A slat connecting system is provided for a roll-up truck bed cover comprising an array of a plurality of contiguously arranged elongated slats. The elongated slats are pivotably hinged together, wherein an elongated slat comprises a main slat body having a first elongated edge and an opposite second elongated edge, a first elongated hinge member is provided in the vicinity of the first elongated edge along its length, and a second elongated hinge member is provided in the vicinity of the second elongated edge along its length, wherein the first elongated hinge member of a slat of the array of the plurality of contiguously arranged elongated slats is configured for being pivotably interconnected to the second elongated hinge member of the adjacent slat of said array.
