Modular and Collapsible Vehicle Frame for Attaching to a Vehicle Body
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a modular vehicle roof frame with at least two support members having at an upper end at least one coupling member through which the support member is axially assembled and releasably coupled to a plurality of top frame members such that each top frame member is releasably coupled to a plurality of support members. In an illustrative example, when the frame is assembled the support members may be substantially vertical and the top frame members may be substantially horizontal. When the frame is coupled to a vehicle the coupling members may, for example, be oriented substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The frame may be assembled, for example, by alternately assembling top frame members and support members. Various embodiments may advantageously allow a disassembled frame to be stored within a small sized container suitable for various ground shipping services.
SPORT BAR MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR USE WITH BED COVERS
A sport bar is disclosed. The sport bar includes a mounting bracket on either side of the sport bar. Each mounting bracket has a substantially squared C shaped cross section, with parts, a top plate, a side wall, and a base plate. The top plate is cantilevered over the base plate and attaches to the bars. The base plate attaches to a top rail of the side walls of the pickup bed.
TONNEAU ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF USE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Some embodiments are directed to a tonneau side rail assembly for attachment to a vehicle bed frame that is at least partially covered by a bed frame cover, and that at least partially defines a vehicle exposed area. The tonneau side rail assembly can include a tonneau side rail that is configured to be removably attached to a tonneau assembly. The tonneau side rail can include upper and lower surfaces, an aperture being defined in each of the upper and lower surfaces such that an open space is defined between the apertures. An extender can define longitudinally opposite ends, one of the ends being configured to be rigidly secured to the vehicle bed frame, and the other of the ends being configured to be rigidly secured to the tonneau side rail so as to define a gap between the tonneau side rail and the bed frame cover.
Apparatus and method for distributing a tarp over a cargo on a truck load bed
A tarp distributing apparatus includes a tarp guide device held in an immobile condition adjacent to and extending upright to above a rear location on a truck load bed so as to establish the height to which a tarp can be moved to above and over the rear of a cargo on the truck load bed, a tarp draught device mounted in a mobile condition adjacent to and extending upright to above the truck load bed forwardly of the tarp guide device so as to undergo movement relative thereto and along the truck load bed for engaging and pulling the tarp relative to the tarp guide device forwardly over the cargo, and an actuation mechanism configured to manipulate and move the tarp draught device relative to the tarp guide device and the cargo so as to accomplish distributing the tarp over at least a portion of the cargo.
Tonneau cover securing mechanism
A tonneau cover securing apparatus for removably securing a cover to a support frame attached to a pickup truck. The support frame preferably includes two opposing side rails that can be secured to respective sidewalls of the pickup truck, such that the cover can be secured to the side rails and the pickup truck by the securing apparatus, which preferably includes a channel, a locking member and a draw cord secured to the locking member. The locking member is biased toward a first position in which the securing apparatus can be prevented from disengaging from the respective side rail; wherein the draw cord can draw the locking member from the first position to a second position, in which the securing apparatus can be disengaged from the respective side rail. The securing apparatus preferably includes two locking members. Methods of securing a cover to a pickup truck are also disclosed.
Tonneau cover system with side rail mounted latches and a rear header mounted release actuator
A latch can be movably mounted to each of the side rails for movement between an unlocked position and a locked position. A release actuator can be movably mounted to the rear header to extend adjacent both latches for movement between a non-release position and a release position. When the rear header is seated in the rear header seat and the release actuator is in the non-release position, each latch engages the rear header in the locked position to lock the rear header and side rails together. When the rear header is seated in the rear header seat and the release actuator is moved toward the release position, the release actuator engages both latches and moves the latches to the unlocked position to unlock the rear header from both of the side rails.
CABLE TONNEAU COVER
A tonneau cover assembly with a top cover connected to a cable tensioning system that eliminates the need for side rails to both locate and tension the top cover. The cable tension system seals out environmental elements and holds the tonneau cover and fabric management bows of the assembly in place. The assembly includes a front attachment assembly and rear attachment assembly connected to cables, where the front attachment provides a forward mounting location and seals a front bow to the vehicle. The rear attachment assembly holds the top cover in a closed tensioned state until the cover is opened by an operator. The tonneau cover assembly reduces weight and complexity, while eliminating the need for side rails.
SKELETON FOR TRUCK BED AND CONVERTIBLE TOP
A truck bed accessory frame is disclosed therein which allows for reconfiguration between an opened position and a closed position. In the open position, objects taller than the frame can loaded onto the truck bed. In the closed position, objects placed in the truck bed can be protected from the environmental elements (e.g. rain and UV rays from the sun).
