A tonneau cover frame for use with a bed of a pickup truck. The frame including a plurality of side rails, a plurality of end rails and a plurality of cross rails. The side rails being configured for extending along sides of the bed of the pickup truck, the end rails extending between the side rails adjacent to front and rear ends of the frame, and the cross rails extending between the side rails at a location between the front and rear ends of the frame. The plurality of end rails and the plurality of cross rails each having an adjustable length, whereby the frame is adjustable in width for use in connection with differently sized beds of different pickup trucks.

An apparatus and method for implementing a vehicle sun and rain shield that converts to a pop-up sheltered compartment. The apparatus semi-permanently attaches to the roof of any vehicle. The device is easy to install and does not interfere with the parking and storage profile of the vehicle. The device is sized to fit within the perimeter of any vehicle roof when deployed. The device is easily opened and closed to provide added sun and rain protection. The device has moveable panels that extend beyond the vehicle roof to provide sun and rain protection. The moveable panels deflect in response to contact. The moveable panels also lock in a position perpendicular with the plane of the roof to provide the pop-up sheltered compartment. The sheltered compartment is useful for storing items or providing temporary shelter for users.

A side rail can define an exterior channel. A coupling strip can be slidably retained within the exterior channel of the side rail and can be positioned to selectively engage with a coupling strip of a tonneau cover. An end cap can be positioned on an end of the side rail. The end cap can include an exterior tab extension received within the exterior channel, and the exterior tab extension can have an end face positioned within the exterior channel and spaced from a corresponding end of the exterior channel. The end face of the exterior tab extension can be positioned to engage an opposing end face of the coupling strip within the exterior channel to positively limit longitudinal sliding movement of the coupling strip within the exterior channel.

A tonneau cover and a method of attachment are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a self-energizing clamp can be used to retain a tonneau cover onto a side wall of a truck bed, or other vehicle bed. In some embodiments, the clamp can be rotated between a usage position and a storage position in order to prevent the clamp from incidental movement or harm while accessing the truck bed.

A side rail can define an exterior channel. A coupling strip can be slidably retained within the exterior channel of the side rail and can be positioned to selectively engage with a coupling strip of the tonneau cover. An end cap can be positioned on an end of the side rail. The end cap can include an exterior tab extension received within the exterior channel, and the exterior tab extension can have an end face positioned within the exterior channel and spaced from a corresponding end of the exterior channel. The end face of the exterior tab extension can be positioned to engage an opposing end face of the second coupling strip within the exterior channel to positively limit longitudinal sliding movement of the second coupling strip within the exterior channel.

A clamp to secure a tonneau cover to a frame of a cargo box includes a first clamp member coupled that has a first clamping surface. A second clamp member that has a second clamping surface. A ramp mechanism that causes lateral translation of the second clamping surface toward the first clamping surface, as the clamp moves between clamped and unclamped positions. A cam lock member positioned to engage with the second clamp member and includes a lever for placing the cam lock member in locked or unlocked states. When the cam lock member moves from the unlocked state to the locked state, the second clamp member moves toward the tonneau cover to the clamped position. When the cam lock member moves from the locked state to the unlocked state, the second clamp member moves away from the tonneau cover to the unclamped position.

A removable cover system may include a first cover member and a second cover member joined by an adjustable pivot system that is adjustable to accommodate different seat/headrest and windshield positions across a diverse spectrum of car designs and models. A removable connection may secure the cover system to an automobile windshield and a seat back or headrest member. During use, the cover system provides a convenient shield from sun radiation and post use may be conveniently stored without rendering a permanent change to the automobile. The cover members of the system may be opaque, translucent, and/or transparent.

A foldable, aerodynamic cover assembly for pickup truck beds which is user switchable between a closed aerodynamic configuration and a folded open configuration which allows the user access to the pickup truck bed. The aerodynamic configuration reduces vehicle wind resistance and drag, which increases fuel efficiency. The foldable, aerodynamic cover is comprised of a rigid folding frame with an outer cover. The outer cover is disposed over the frame and detachably connected to the base portion of said frame.

A tonneau cover system clamp can include first and second clamp members with first and second clamping surfaces, respectively. The second clamp member can be slidably coupled to an elongate member relative to the first clamp member. A locking mechanism can be movable to engage the elongate member to prevent lateral translation of the second clamping surface relative to the first clamping surface in response to the first and the second clamp members being in the locked position. The locking mechanism can be movable to release the elongate member to allow lateral translation of the second clamping surface relative to the first clamping surface in response to the first and the second clamp members being in the unlocked position. A biasing member can apply a biasing force biasing the first clamp member and the second clamp member toward the proximal end of the elongate member.

A tarpaulin support device for an open top of a trailer or vehicle. The device has a flexible and resilient tube assembly bowed from a normally straight position under tension to an arched position outwardly from the trailer or vehicle. The tube assembly may be removably mounted to the side walls of the trailer or vehicle via brackets with angled bores therethrough. The tube assembly comprises an outer tube, an inner tube located substantially within an outer tube, a rod located substantially within an outer tube, or a rod located substantially within an inner tube located substantially within an outer tube.
