Vehicle Roof Having a Roof Panel
A vehicle roof having a solid roof portion is provided, which is attached to the vehicle body and which delimits a roof opening, and at least one removable roof panel which covers the roof opening when in a closed position and which is detached from the solid roof portion when in an open position, the roof opening thus being uncovered, wherein the roof panel has at least one lock element on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the roof, each lock element interacting with a respective lock slide which can be moved between at least one locking position, in which it retains the roof panel on the solid roof portion and the in roof opening is closed by the roof panel, and an unlocking position, in which the roof panel can be detached from the solid roof portion.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FASTENING HARD AND SOFT TOP APPLIQUES
An apparatus and method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, providing a vehicle with a hard top option where a hard top can be attached to the vehicle, a soft top option where a soft top can be attached to the vehicle, and a dual top option where either the hard top or the soft top can be attached to the vehicle. A hard top applique is provided for the hard top and a soft top applique is provide for the soft top, and a common set of fasteners is used to attach the hard top applique and the soft top applique to a pillar as needed to attach the hard top or soft top to the vehicle.

A vehicle is described herein that includes a body structure such as a windshield and/or a windshield frame, a compartment such as a passenger compartment, one or more body panels around the compartment, and an at least partially floating cover, such as a roof, disposed over the compartment. The floating cover includes one or more body structure mounts and an overhang extending from the body structure over the compartment to an aft portion of the compartment. Other similar embodiments include features such as support structures, support structure mounts that mount the floating cover to the support structures, and various aerodynamic features incorporated into the floating cover. For example, some embodiments include roll bars and roll bar mounts, aerodynamic arcs, and aerodynamically continuous surfaces.

An automobile pickup bed has a roof fixing unit which attaches the pickup bed to the automobile pickup bed. The automobile pickup bed has a window panel fixing unit for attaching a door panel to the automobile pickup bed roof in order to be an entrance passage and has a supporting panel unit which locks the front window panel in the holding-open position for air ventilation. Further, the rear of the automobile pickup bed roof has a water drainage device to facilitate water drainage out of a groove of the rear door panel.

The latch assembly includes a push button actuator to release the latch assembly and remove the removable window from the removable roof panel.

The present disclosure is directed toward simplifying the structure of a door opening and closing mechanism including a plurality of door latches. A body of a vehicle includes a remote control mechanism that operates a left door latch and a right door latch in response to an operation of a left door operation unit or a right door operation unit. The left door operation unit and the right door operation unit are mechanically connected to the remote control mechanism by cables. Similarly, the left door latch and the right door latch are also mechanically connected to the remote control mechanism by plurality of latch cables. The remote control mechanism transmits a force for operating the door latches from one of the left door operation unit and the right door operation unit to all of the door latches via the cables.
