An extendable roof system for carts, or more specifically golf carts, the extendable roof system having at least one extendable side panel stored inside a housing attached to a cart roof top, and a method of using such a system.

A tonneau cover comprising: (a) a plurality of panels; (b) one or more hinges located between and connecting each panel of the plurality of panels; and (c) one or more rotary locks located on a first side, a second side, or both sides of one or more of the one or more hinges, one of the plurality of panels, or both, the one or more rotary locks including: (i) one or more panel caps; and (ii) one or more rail locks that create a lock with the one or more panel caps when the tonneau cover is in a closed position so that the tonneau cover is prevented from being opened proximate to the one or more hinges.

A tonneau cover comprising: (a) a first panel and a second panel; (b) a hinge located between and connecting the first panel and the second panel; and (c) a cover extending over all or a portion of the first panel, the second panel, or both, and the hinge so that, when the first panel or the second panel rotates about the hinge, the cover forms a portion of the hinge and maintains the integrity of the hinge.

A tonneau cover comprising: (a) a plurality of panels; (b) one or more hinges between each panel of the plurality of panels so that the plurality of panels are rotatably connected together, wherein some or all of the one or more hinges include: (i) a plurality of expansion links that are movably interconnected together, some of the plurality of expansion links including: (1) one or more expansion projections; (2) one or more pockets that receive all or a portion of the one or more expansion projections from an adjacent one of the plurality of expansion links; and (3) one or more expansion stops that restricts movement of the one or more expansion projections from the adjacent one of plurality of the expansion links that extend within the one or more pockets; wherein the one or more hinges rotate so that the one or more hinges form of angle of about 90 degrees or more and about 225 degrees or less.

The present concept is a multi position folding panel truck box cover assembly which includes a left and a right longitudinally extending foldable cover sections, wherein each cover section includes an outside face an inside face and an outer edge and an inner edge. The left and right cover sections are pivotally connected, to a left sidewall and a right sidewall respectively of a truck box. The left and right cover sections each further include two longitudinal panels namely a left and right inner panel and a left and right outer panel, wherein the left panels are pivotally coupled at the inside face proximate a middle edge and make up the left cover section, and wherein the right panels are pivotally coupled at the inside face proximate a middle edge and make up the right cover section.

A tonneau cover that includes a first panel, a second panel, a hinge between the first panel and the second panel, and a torsion element between the first panel and the second panel. The torsion element applies an urging force onto one or both of the first panel and the second panel during movement of the first panel and/or the second panel about the hinge.

A retractable cover system includes laterally spaced apart guide rails that define an opening and each provide a track. A drive assembly includes a motor that drives a first gear. The first gear is coupled to a second gear. A cover has multiple slats configured to interlock with one another in a deployed configuration. The slats cooperate with the drive assembly and are slidable in the tracks between first and second positions within the opening in response to actuation of the drive assembly. The slats are stacked onto one another in a stowed configuration. The motor is disconnected to the slats with the first and second gears in the decoupled position for manual operation.

A tonneau cover comprising: (a) one or more panels pivotally connected to one or more additional panels via hinge portions; and (b) hinges having a plurality of engaging features, the hinges being positioned within the hinge portions so that the plurality of engaging features are secured within channels of the panels to connect the panels, the hinges further including a fin that projects from the hinges and seals a gap between the connected panels.

A hinge system for a vehicle hardtop having a system with hinges (1) that allow a user to open and close a set of removable rigid rooftop panels (5, 6) for a Jeep or other sport utility vehicle without being required to fully remove and store the rigid roof panels.
