Frame mounted hydraulic cable log skidder industrial attachment for agricultural tractors
20200352116 · 2020-11-12 ·

This patent relates to a frame mounted hydraulic cable log skidder attachment for agricultural tractors. The skidder unit includes the structural plate, beam, and roller arch assembly which provides structural support for the hydraulic winch. The log skidder unit hydraulically self-loads onto the rear of the tractor. Once the log(s)/load is secured manually on the end of the choker cable, the load is raised off the ground via the hydraulic winch from inside the tractor cab and moved to a desired location, where the load is disconnected manually from the dismounted position.

A device for picking up and hauling a log or similar object and a method for its use are disclosed. The device is capable of picking up one end of the log and dragging the log behind it, but is also capable of picking up the entire log off the ground. The device can be anchored to and pulled behind a small vehicle, such as an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) or utility vehicle (UTV), or behind a large vehicle such as a car or truck. The device uses no winches or hydraulics that could break or wear out, and lifts and holds the log solely using levers and chains as attachment points. The device is able to maneuver over rugged terrain and is also able to be towed at high speeds on a road.

Grapple

A grapple for handling logs includes a base portion connectable to a working machine portion and at least one tine connected to the base portion. The at least one tine has a protruding length from the base portion. The grapple further includes a catch arm pivotably arranged relative to the base portion. The grapple can assume configurations with different protruding lengths of the at least one tine.

WINCH APPLIANCE FOR TOWING COMPACT LOADS, IN PARTICULAR LOGS
20200010310 · 2020-01-09 ·

The present disclosure provides an appliance for towing compact loads (e.g., logs), and include an auxiliary winch provided in combination with a main winch on a tractor without the need for separate powering means or the need to transport said auxiliary winch to the area adjacent to the load (away from the main winch/tractor.) The appliance may be provided by upgrading an existing tractor winch by, for example, attaching the auxiliary winch to a casing of the main winch, or to the ground adjacent the tractor with the main winch. The auxiliary winch may be furnished with a driving means powered by disposable powering means on the tractor that may include auxiliary pulley block(s) with an accompanying accessory to provide attachment thereof to the terrain, with each pulley block suitable for guiding an auxiliary cable in the area outside of the line between the main winch and the load.

Method and arrangement to control the operation of a wood-handling device in a work machine, and a forest machine

A method for controlling operation of a wood-handling device in a work machine. The wood-handling device is attached through a rotation device to an end of a set of booms of the work machine to create a desired orientation of the wood-handling device for the operation. The orientation of the wood-handling device using the rotation device is tied on the basis of the operation to be performed using the set of booms. The orientation of the wood-handling device is tied to the position of the end of the set of booms. The position of the end of the set of booms is defined while performing the operation, on the basis of the position of the end of the set of booms. The wood-handling device is oriented using the rotation device, according to the said tie.
