The door frame includes an outer door panel and an inner door panel. The outer door panel includes a window edge adjacent the window opening, a trailing edge, and an exterior surface extending between the window edge and the trailing edge. The inner door panel is coupled to and positioned inboard of the outer door panel in a vehicle lateral direction. The frame member is coupled to and positioned between the outer door panel and the inner door panel. The garnish covers a portion of the exterior surface of the outer door panel adjacent the window edge while permitting a vehicle body color of the exterior surface of the door outer panel between the garnish and the trailing edge to be exposed.

A vehicle member join structure includes a sheet-shaped first member made of a lightweight metal, a sheet-shaped second member made of a ferrous metal, a rivet made of a ferrous metal and including a shaft that penetrates the first member and a head that remains at an outer surface of the first member, the shaft being welded to the second member so as to connect the first member and the second member together, and a waterproof section that prevents water ingress by covering a region where the rivet and the first member contact each other.

An assembly for a vehicle, including exterior and interior door panels forming a door body and a glass extending from a top of the door body in a closed configuration and being disposed within the door body in an open configuration, lower and upper corners of the glass including lower and upper protruding structures, respectively. An upper guide element is secured to or formed in a pillar of the vehicle and receives the upper protruding structure. A lower guide element is secured to or formed in an interior portion of the door body and receives the lower protruding structure, an upper portion of the lower guide element including a curved guide piece. When the lower protruding structure translates inboard through the curved guide piece and vertically downwards through the lower guide element, the upper protruding structure translates vertically downwards through the upper guide element.

The invention refers to a sealing and cover strip for the B-pillar of a passenger vehicle with a support cover and a decorative cover, which have a sealing profile for a lowerable side window on at least one of their common longitudinal sides. It is the object of the present invention to improve a sealing and cover strip of the type mentioned above in such a way that the assembly effort during production of the vehicle is reduced and also the optical appearance is improved so that the sealing profile consists of two sealing halves, one respective half being connected to the decorative cover and the respective other half to the support cover.

An encapsulated fixed window module for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The module includes a fixed window pane having an exterior surface, an interior surface, and a peripheral edge extending between the exterior and interior surfaces. The module also includes an overmolded trim strip extending along at least a portion of the peripheral edge, the overmolded trim strip having an exterior edge, an interior edge, and peripheral edges extending between the exterior and interior edges. One of the peripheral edges of the overmolded trim strip covers at least in part the peripheral edge of the fixed window pane. The module further includes an esthetic component covering at least a portion of the exterior edge and extending along at least a portion of the overmolded trim strip, the esthetic component having an esthetic exterior face. The at least one of the exterior edge and the esthetic exterior face can be substantially coplanar with the exterior surface.
