The drive unit has a single-axis structure and is arranged between the front wheels. The steering mechanism includes a transmission unit, tie rods, an intermediate shaft, kingpins, and suspension arms. The tie rods are connected to hub carriers at positions forward of the kingpins. The intermediate shaft extends in a space on a side of the drive unit in the vehicle width direction to connect the steering wheel to the transmission unit.

The front section is disposed rearward of the drive unit. The power supply device is disposed above the front section.

An electric vehicle has an electric motor and a pack for storing energy, with the electric vehicle configured to have: at least two passenger seats, including a first seat, and a second seat, positioned behind the front seat and configured to face rearward; and the pack having: a lateral module configured to extend perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle between the first seat and the second seat.
