A switchable powertrain comprises at least four points of freedom. The switchable powertrain comprises a main gear set configured for gear ratio selection, the main gear set comprising main gears coupled to a main shaft and second gears coupled to a second shaft. An adapter comprises a first selective coupling configured to selectively couple to the main shaft, and a second selective coupling configured to selectively couple to the second shaft. A first torque source and a clutch are configured for selectively coupling or decoupling first torque to the main shaft. A second torque source is configured for selectively outputting second torque to the first selective coupling or to the second selective coupling.

The switchable powertrain comprises a main gear set configured for gear ratio selection, the main gear set comprising main gears coupled to a main shaft and second gears coupled to a second shaft. An electric walk behind greens mower includes an electric reel motor rotating a cutting reel; an electric traction motor rotating at least one traction drive roller; and an electronic control unit commanding the electric traction motor and the electric reel motor to rotate at reduced speeds during a turn if an electronic signal indicates a deviation from a normal walk speed. The electric walk behind greens mower also may include a battery management system that activates a low voltage power supply if a key switch is turned from the off position to the run position, and that provides a start signal to an electronic control unit if the key switch is momentarily turned from the run position to the start position whereby the electronic control unit activates a high voltage power supply to the electric reel motor and the electric traction motor.

Methods and system for controlling engine stop position
A method and system for controlling a stop rotation position of an engine is described. In one example, the system includes an integrated starter/generator that may be selectively coupled to the engine. The integrated starter/generator may rotate the engine in a first direction (e.g., reverse direction) or a second direction (e.g., a forward direction) in response to a position at which the engine stops rotating following cessation of combustion in the engine.
VEHICLE DRIVING APPARATUS
A vehicle driving apparatus includes: a rotating machine; a cover covering the rotating machine and including a thick portion having a predetermined thickness in a direction of a rotation axis of the rotating machine; an oil pump attached to the cover; and a relief valve provided in the cover, and configured to discharge an oil supplied from the oil pump. The relief valve includes a cylinder room that is provided in the thick portion. The thick portion is provided with at least one cutout extending from an inner wall of the cylinder room in a direction substantially perpendicular to the rotation axis. The cover is provided with at least one rib each of which is disposed in a position opposed to a corresponding one of the at least one cutout and extends in the direction of the rotation axis.

A hybrid vehicle includes an engine and an electric motor as driving power sources, a clutch of a hydraulic type provided between the engine and the electric motor, an electric oil pump that supplies hydraulic pressure to the clutch, a mechanical oil pump that interlocks with a rotation of the electric motor and supplies hydraulic pressure to the clutch, and a controller that controls the electric motor and the electric oil pump.

A vehicle includes a battery, an inverter, a permanent magnet electric machine, and a controller. The controller commands discharge of a storage element of the inverter through the permanent magnet electric machine via a current having a zero quadrature axis component and a positive direct axis component.
