Modular birding accessory pole system
A pole system if provided for supporting birding accessories, such as bird feeders, perches or bird houses. The pole system includes a hollow outer tube and an elongated post extending therethrough. The post has an auger at one end and an opposite end configured to engage a tool for rotating the post. A disk is attached to a bottom end of the outer tube to engage the ground when the pole system is installed. A plurality of stakes are removably engaged to the disk to project radially outward from the outer tube. The stakes include a downturned end for driving into the ground after the auger has been threaded into the ground.

PERCH FOR A BIRD FEEDER
A U-shaped perch for a bird feeder which is selectively movable between retracted and extended positions with respect to the bird feeder. The perch is horizontally slidably mounted in a support at the lower end of a feed port positioned in a feed opening formed in the bird feeder. The perch is selectively locked in its extended position. The perch and the support cooperate to limit the outward extension of the perch with respect to the support. The perch may also be movably mounted on the bird feeder which does not have a feed port.

SYSTEMS, METHODS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR MONITORING THE BEHAVIOR, HEALTH, AND/OR CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ANIMAL
Systems, methods, and computer code products for monitoring the behavior, health, and/or characteristics of an animal are disclosed herein. In one implementation, the animal is positioned inside a waste container placed on a system that is adapted to determine, record and communicate over a network various animal health parameters. These parameters can be processed to determine trends, statistics and changes of animal physiological functions. The results can be used to access animal health conditions and issue warnings, alarms, messages, and other notifications to designated caretakers. These notifications may be displayed using various means such as computers and/or mobile devices. Data retrieval and review capability can provide improved understanding of an animal's health conditions and facilitate early illness detection.

Port and perch insert for a bird feeder
There is provided a port and perch insert for fitting into an aperture through a wall of a container of a birdfeeder. The port and perch insert comprises a port (34), a perch (32), and a snap fit element which flexes to snap over an edge of the aperture and retain the port and perch insert to the container (12). The snap fit element comprises: a protrusion which snaps over the edge of the aperture to engage against an inside surface of the container; a flexible root portion which connects the snap fit element to a main body of the port and perch insert, and a paddle portion (56) which is pushable from outside the container once the port and perch insert has been fitted to the container, to allow the port and perch insert to be removed from the container.
BIRD FEEDER PERCH EXTENSION
A perch extension for a bird feeder having an elongated perch body that defines a cavity that is adapted to fit at least partially over a perch on a bird feeder. The perch extension may optionally have a support member that is coupled to the perch body, and is further adapted to fit at least partially around the seed container of the bird feeder. The perch extension may optionally define protuberances to provide a snap-fit or press-fit engagement with the bird feeder perch.
