Method and device for managing interaction between a wearable device and a vehicle
Various aspects of a device and method to manage interaction with one or more control circuits in a vehicle and one or more wearable devices are disclosed herein. The device comprises one or more circuits configured to receive a first set of input values from the one or more wearable devices associated with a first user. The one or more wearable devices are communicatively coupled to the device used in the vehicle. A second set of input values is received from one or more vehicle sensors embedded in the vehicle. An operating mode of the device is determined based on the received first set of input values and the second set of input values. One or more functions of the vehicle are controlled based on the determined operating mode of the device.
Device and method for preventing driving under influence
A device and a method for preventing driving under influence, may include a first measuring device configured for detecting alcohol in indoor air of a vehicle, and a processor connected to the first measuring device, wherein the processor performs a first check of checking a presence or an absence of the alcohol in the indoor air through the first measuring device before a driver boards the vehicle, performs a second check of checking the presence or the absence of the alcohol in the indoor air through the first measuring device after the driver boards the vehicle, and determines whether there is a possibility that the driver is drunken based on the results of performing the first check and the second check.
METHOD AND SYSTEM OF ANTI-CIRCUMVENTION MONITORING IN VEHICLE IGNITION INTERLOCK OPERATION
A system and method of detecting an anti-circumvention attempt associated with an ignition interlock device of a vehicle. The method comprises detecting an electrical parameter associated with an electrical power state of the vehicle electrical system that includes the ignition interlock device having at least a relay device and a controller device electrically interconnected within the vehicle electrical system; comparing, responsive to the detecting, the electrical parameter to a threshold condition; inferring an IID circumvention event in accordance with the electrical parameter being one of above and below the threshold condition, and reporting, responsive to the inferring, the IID circumvention event to a central monitoring server computing system.
SOBRIETY MONITORING SYSTEM
A system and method of monitoring sobriety using a hand-held breath testing device that, on receipt of a user's breath, generates a breath test signal comprising substance content data and user identification data, and wirelessly transmits the breath test signal to a breath test signal receiving station. The breath test signal includes substance content data and user identification data. The substance content data includes at least one of: a blood alcohol level and a narcotics presence. The user identification data includes compressed image data. The signal receiving station is monitored by a supervisor who is able to intervene should the substance level be greater than a predetermined threshold, or should the user identification data no match with a reference user identification data.
Apparatus and method for controlling alcohol interlock
An apparatus for controlling alcohol interlock includes a sensor that senses an environment of a driver's seat and a camera that obtains a face image of a passenger and an image of exhalation of the passenger. A controller activates a start lock mode of a vehicle and determines whether a condition for detecting components of the exhalation of the passenger is satisfied based on the environment of the driver's seat. The controller determines whether the exhalation of the passenger is exhalation of a driver based on the face image of the passenger and the image of the exhalation of the passenger, and determines whether to detect alcohol concentration in the exhalation of the passenger based on the determination result.
SOBRIETY MONITORING SYSTEM WITH IDENTIFICATION INDICIA
A system for monitoring the sobriety of a user is provided. The system may include a testing device that generates a substance content signal. The testing device may further include a mouthpiece and a user identification device. The user identification device may generate user identification data in response to a user's breath and may transmit it from the testing device to a monitoring station. The testing device may further include at least one of an LCD screen or a light-emitting diode (“LED”) light. At least one of the LCD screen or the LED light may display at least one randomly generated visible identification indicia.
ALCOLOCK DEVICE AND SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to an ignition interlock device and system for accurately detecting a drunk driver by running an interactive visual test presented for the driver to visualize on a screen of the alcolock device, which further comprises at least an eye gaze tracking module for recording eye movements and measuring gaze data, and a motor skill computing module for computing motion parameters from the sensor data measured during the interactive visual test. The alcolock device may further comprise a drunk detection module for measuring drunkenness of the driver by mapping gaze parameters and motion parameters to measure the mismatch between motor skills and cognitive processing performance, and a decision module for allowing the driver to drive the vehicle, or not, based on the measured drunkenness.
Method For Measuring Breath Alcohol Concentration And Apparatus Therefor
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for measuring breath alcohol concentration of a user. A flow of an expired breath sample is passed through a fuel cell sensor giving an output signal proportional to the amount of alcohol present in the breath sample. By measuring the flow rate, the volume of the breath sample may be calculated, whereas the breath alcohol concentration is calculated based on the fuel cell output signal. Both the sample volume and the breath alcohol concentration values are continually updated by integrating the measured instantaneous flow rate and the fuel cell output signal over time. If the user stops blowing, flow compensation is performed to obtain a compensated fuel cell output signal using a stored calibration volume. Hence, an improved method for accurately measuring the breath alcohol concentration of a test person is achieved, capable of handling varied expired volumes of breath, which obviates the need for a sampling mechanism.
Sensor system for passive in-vehicle breath alcohol estimation
Methods and apparatus allow for passive determination of a driver's Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC). Alcohol concentrations can be determined from exhaled breath, however inconvenience to a driver is often a barrier for incorporation of BrAC sensors into vehicles. The methods and apparatus allow for passive determination of a driver's BrAC, while detecting and accounting for a wide range of environmental conditions that may reduce the accuracy of a passive BrAC reading.
