A method of monitoring for circumvention of an ignition interlock system is described herein including detecting an electrical parameter associated with an electrical power state of a vehicle electrical system in a vehicle comprising an ignition interlock device that includes at least a relay device and a controller device electrically interconnected within the vehicle electrical system, measuring a rate of degradation associated with the electrical parameter of the vehicle electrical system, and comparing the electrical parameter to a threshold condition. The method further includes comparing the rate of degradation of the electrical parameter to a threshold rate. Depending on the rate of degradation, a violation state may be generated, a violation state may be reversed, a violation state may be maintained, a log entry may be generated, or more than one of these may occur.

The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods avoiding collisions by monitoring the presence and alertness of a person in a vehicle. The alertness of that person may be monitored by identifying actions performed by that person when an automated driving assistant is used in a vehicle. Systems and method consistent with the present disclosure may monitor the alertness of a person that is located in a driving position of a vehicle according to criteria associated with particular individuals or with criteria associated with specific protocols. When a system or method consistent with the present disclosure identifies that a person is not alert, a corrective action may be initiated that reduces likelihood of a collision.

A device for emitting radiation includes a reflector component and a clip. The reflector component has a top side, a bottom side, and a perimeter side. At least one aperture formed within the reflector component that extends from a top opening on the top side of the reflector component through to a bottom opening on the bottom side of the reflector component. The clip may be connected to the reflector component and has a flat side that is in contact with the bottom side of the reflector component. Portions of the substantially flat side of the clip are configured to be soldered to a circuit board having an emitter which extends at least partially through the aperture when the clip is soldered to the circuit board.

Systems and methods for improving vehicular safety are provided. According to certain aspects, an electronic device may receive and analyze image data depicting an individual located within a vehicle. The electronic device may also access certain data related to a condition of the individual, and may accordingly determine whether the individual is fit to operate the vehicle. If the individual is unfit to operate the vehicle, the electronic device may generate and display a notification that indicates certain alternate modes of transportation or available lodging in a vicinity of the electronic device.
