Conditional or temporary feature availability
10262469 · 2019-04-16 · ·

Controlling availability of features of a vehicle can be based on a set of initial parameters, with each parameter related to a feature of the vehicle and defining availability of the feature. The set of initial parameters can define at least one feature of the vehicle as unavailable but further define the unavailability of the at least one feature of the vehicle as overridable upon detection of an emergency condition by the control system of the vehicle. The control system of the vehicle can apply the set of initial parameters to operations of the vehicle to control. At another time, a set of updated parameters with at least one parameter having a different value than the initial set of parameters can be applied by the control system of the vehicle to control operations of the vehicle based on levels indicated by the set of updated parameters.

A control knob for a motor vehicle is described, the former comprising a rotor that can rotate around an axis; a fixed body; a member; and an actuator selectively movable between a first configuration, in which it allows said rotor and said member to rotate relative to the body around the axis, and a second configuration, in which it exerts a braking torque upon the member; a first element and a second element interacting with one another, in a snapping manner, in a plurality of consecutive positions, when the actuator is arranged in the first configuration, so as to provide a first touch-related feedback; the knob comprises a third element, a profile extending crosswise to the third element; and a fourth elastic element connecting the third element and the profile to said rotor; the third element, the fourth elastic element and the profile can rotate together with the rotor and the member in an integral manner, when the actuator is arranged in the first configuration; the third element slides on the profile to provide a single second touch-related feedback, when the actuator is arranged in said second configuration.

Separable display article

A display article includes a film formed from a stretchable plastic and including a first plurality of micro-light emitting diodes and a second plurality of micro-light emitting diodes disposed adjacent to the first plurality and embedded in the plastic. The article includes a substrate having a first portion and a second portion, and a tear seam disposed between the first and second portions. The film is attached to the substrate such that the tear seam is located between the first and second pluralities. A component includes the display article and an airbag disposed adjacent the substrate and configured for transitioning between a stowed position in which the airbag does not extend through the substrate, and a deployed position in which the airbag extends through the substrate and the film. The first and second portions are separated at the tear seam when the airbag is disposed in the deployed position.
