The display unit includes a first layer cooperating with a backlight, a second layer disposed proximate the first layer and a third layer disposed proximate the second layer. At least one microcontroller in communication with the display unit includes a first processing unit configured to receive a dimming level value and a second processing unit. The second processing unit evaluates the dimming level value against a threshold value and adjusts one or more properties of the display unit in response to the measured values.
On-vehicle display system
The disclosure discloses an on-vehicle display system including an instrument panel and a display device, where the instrument panel is provided with a protection housing, which is a curved structure recessed toward the instrument panel; the display device is configured to emit light rays of a displayed image; and the protection housing is configured to transmit light exiting from the instrument panel, and to receive and reflect the light rays exiting from the display device to eyes of a driver.

A method for displaying a pointer in an instrument panel is described. The method comprises retrieving a current instrument status of an instrument of the instrument panel that is to be displayed, determining a pointer form on the basis of the current instrument status, retrieving of the determined pointer form from a texture atlas, and rendering the pointer in the instrument panel with the retrieved pointer form. There is further described a device for displaying an instrument panel, which device comprises a display module configured to display at least one instrument panel having at least one pointer instrument, and a controller configured to carry out the method using the display module. A vehicle having such a device is also disclosed.
DISPLAYING SYSTEM, METHOD, AND VEHICLE
The embodiments disclosed in this application describe a displaying system, a displaying method, and a head-up display. The heads-up displaying system includes a display window including a transflective film, an image source emitting light incident on the imaging window, and the light emitted by the image source before reaching the transflective film only comprising s-polarized light. The transflective film is configured to directly reflect a first portion of the s-polarized light emitted from the image source. The transparent substrate reflects a second portion of the s-polarized light, and transmits a third portion of the s-polarized light to the air, the first portion of the s-polarized light, the second portion of the s-polarized light and the third portion of the s-polarized light are all s-polarized light.

Method and apparatus for augmented reality display on vehicle windscreen
A method for providing a machine operator with an augmented reality view of an environment includes determining a location and orientation of a vehicle. An eye position and gaze of an operator of the vehicle are also determined. Job information to be displayed to the operator of the vehicle is determined based on the location of the vehicle and the orientation of the vehicle. The job information is displayed to the operator based on the eye position and gaze of the operator of the vehicle. In one embodiment, environmental features that can be seen through the windscreen are determined. The job information displayed to the operator is modified based on the environmental features.
Vehicle display configuration system and method
A vehicle display configuration system and method employs a display, an eye tracker and a controller. The eye tracker is configured to track eye movement of a user viewing the display. The controller is configured to control the display to sequentially display sets of a plurality of images for comparison and selection by the user, to receive selection information representing a respective selected image from each of the sets being displayed on the display as selected by the user, to analyze eye tracker eye movement information received from the eye tracker representing eye movement of the user while the user is viewing each of the sets being displayed on the display, and to designate a vehicle display image based on the selection information and a result of the analysis of the eye movement information.
Display device
A display device includes a display unit for displaying a moving body speed being a speed of a moving body, a first speed that is arbitrarily settable by a driver, and a second speed that is not arbitrarily settable by the driver. The display unit includes a display having a drawing function, and a frame member disposed to overlap the display. The display includes a display area spanning an inner side and an outer side of the frame member. The display displays the moving body speed and the first speed on the inner side of the frame member, and displays the second speed on the outer side of the frame member.
