The computing system yet further sets a predefined pictorial support message defined in an account corresponding to the event maintained in a database prior to occurrence of the event as a pictorial support message to be presented to the passenger. The computing system additionally causes the display to present the pictorial support message, wherein the pictorial support message solicits feedback from the passenger of the autonomous vehicle.

The operation button position control unit brings the display position of the operation button close to an indicator when the indicator approaches the touch panel. The second display control unit displays a synthesized image of an image being displayed on the touch panel and an image indicating the position of the indicator in the visual field of the operator.

OPTICAL DISPLAY KNOB

An optical display knob is mounted on an electronic display, such as a touch-screen display found in a vehicle interior cabin, and includes a knob body with an optical guide and a button located therein. The knob body is rotatable, whereas the optical guide is adhered to the electronic display via a transparent adhesive so that it is stationary, with respect to the electronic display. When the electronic display generates graphics or images, the corresponding light is transmitted through the transparent adhesive and the optical guide to a front display surface. At the front display surface, the graphics appear to be emanating from the front of the optical display knob, and not from the surface of the electronic display itself.
