Contextual autonomous vehicle support through pictorial interaction
An autonomous vehicle including a sensor system that outputs a sensor signal indicative of a condition of the autonomous vehicle. The vehicle also includes a user interface device with a display. A computing system determines, based upon a profile of the passenger, that support is to be provided pictorially to the passenger when the support is provided to the passenger. The computing system further detects occurrence of an event that has been identified as potentially causing discomfort to the passenger. The computing system yet further sets a predefined pictorial support message defined in an account corresponding to the event maintained in a database prior to occurrence of the event as a pictorial support message to be presented to the passenger. The computing system additionally causes the display to present the pictorial support message, wherein the pictorial support message solicits feedback from the passenger of the autonomous vehicle.

The present invention ascertains an action schedule of an automatic driving system when a host vehicle is travelling in an automatic driving mode, and uses an indirect weak expression to convey the action schedule to a driver, at an action schedule presentation start location (P2) which has more leeway with respect to a scheduled action location (P1) (steps S16, S18). In the case of an acceleration/deceleration action schedule, an illuminance distribution of the speedometer dial plate, a virtual pointer or the like is used to express the action schedule such that the driver is able to intuitively ascertain the acceleration or deceleration. In the case of a steering action schedule, the steering direction is expressed using a change in illumination near the steering wheel representing the direction of steering or the like is used.

Heads up display system
A heads up display system of a vehicle includes a combiner screen having a first substantially transparent substrate defining a first surface and a second surface, a second substantially transparent substrate defining a third surface and a fourth surface. A primary seal is disposed between the first and second substrates. The seal and the first and second substrates define a cavity therebetween. An electro-optic material is positioned within the cavity and a transflective layer having a multilayer polymeric film positioned on one of the first and second surfaces, and a projector for projecting light having a first polarization toward the first surface of the first substrate.
Information processing system and information display apparatus
An information processing system includes a memory to store information of a target objective set for a mobile apparatus, and circuitry. The circuitry acquires external information of the mobile apparatus, acquires internal information of the mobile apparatus, generates an autonomous traveling route of the mobile apparatus based on the external information, the internal information, and the information of the target objective, converts the autonomous traveling route of the mobile apparatus to image information based on at least one of the external information and the internal information, and outputs the image information indicating the autonomous traveling route of the mobile apparatus.

A display control apparatus in the present invention includes the following: a positional-information acquiring unit that acquires positional information about the current position of a subject vehicle; a map-information acquiring unit that acquires, as information about an intersection, map information including information about lanes of all roads connected to the intersection; a lane-restriction determining unit that, based on the positional information and the map information, determines restrictions on the lanes of all the roads connected to the intersection into which the subject vehicle makes an entry; and a display controller that, based on the determination, controls the display of an object indicating whether the subject vehicle can travel after passing through the intersection, the object being displayed with respect to the lanes of all the roads connected to the intersection, except at least the road on which the subject vehicle is located.

A situation determining section 11 determines a situation of a vehicle on the basis of driving information. A support image setting section 13 sets a support image in accordance with a determination result obtained by the situation determining section 11.
