The lens unit has a first connection portion and second connection portions formed at boundaries of the adjacent convex lens portions. The first connection portion extends in the Y-direction, and the second connection portions extend in the Z-direction. A width of a short direction of the first connection portion is smaller than a width of a short direction of the second connection portions

Instrument cluster pointer

A pointer for an instrument panel. The pointer includes a base. A shaft extends from the base. A blade extends from the base to reference indications on the instrument cluster. A diffuser is attached to the base over the shaft. The diffuser is configured to scatter light along a length of the blade and to a panel arranged over the base to illuminate the panel.

SCREEN FOR A FREE AND A RESTRICTED VIEWING MODE

A screen with a transmissive image generator with pixels which is operable in at least two operating modes, B1 for a free viewing mode and B2 for a restricted viewing mode, and with an illuminating apparatus comprising a backlight that has a planar extension and radiates light in a restricted angular range, a plate-shaped light guide arranged in front of the backlight and provided with outcoupling elements on one of the large surfaces and/or within its volume, the light guide being transparent to at least 70% of the light emitted by the backlight; and light sources arranged laterally at edges of the light guide. In mode B2, the backlight is switched on and the light sources are switched off, and in mode B1 at least the light sources are switched on. In interaction with the transmissive image generator the illuminating apparatus constitutes an advantageous screen permitting the operating modes.

Hidden switch assembly

A switch assembly comprising a housing configured to operably couple to a trim panel and defining a cavity, a feedback device operably coupled to the housing and positioned within the cavity, a printed circuit board operably coupled to the feedback device, a proximity sensor operably coupled to a connector and configured to actuate the feedback device, and a light source operably coupled the printed circuit board and configured to luminesce in response to actuation of the proximity sensor. The trim panel comprises a panel substrate operably coupled to a backup layer, an icon layer positioned within the cavity and operably coupled to the backup layer, an outline positioned about a periphery of the backup layer, and a translucent panel skin bonded to a foam layer positioned over the panel substrate, wherein the panel skin stretches over the panel substrate and the backup layer.

Screen for a free and a restricted viewing mode and application thereof

A display screen operable on at least a partial area A in two operating modes, free-viewing mode B1, and restricted-viewing modeB2, with the residual display area of the screen outside the area A maintaining a free viewing mode; comprising a first backlight arranged below the residual display area; a second backlight arranged below the area A; a transmissive image generator in front of the backlights; a plate-shaped transparent light guide arranged between the image generator and the backlights that outcouples, through one of its large surfaces, light coupled in through one of its edges; light sources arranged laterally an edge of the light guide, wherein the light guide is transparent to at least 70% of the light emitted by the backlights, and wherein in the B1 mode, the light sources are switched on, and in the B2 mode, the backlights are on and the light sources are off.

Display device and vehicle head-up display apparatus

A display device and a vehicle head-up display apparatus of the present disclosure include a substrate, light source devices, a transmission-type display panel, and an illumination optical system. The light source devices are disposed on the substrate. The illumination optical system guides illumination light from the light source devices to the display panel. The illumination optical system includes a first reflector, a quarter-wave plate, and a reflective polarizer. The first reflector is disposed at a different position on the substrate than the light source devices. The quarter-wave plate is disposed between the first reflector and the display panel. The reflective polarizer is disposed between the quarter-wave plate and the display panel.

Provided is a soft upper trim of a vehicle door, in which an upper substrate, foam, and a transparent skin are laminated, and particularly, to a soft upper trim for switch assembly of a vehicle door, in which a switch, which is configured to preserve continuity of a transparent skin and display lock and unlock symbols on the transparent skin, is easily assembled to an upper substrate, and a method of manufacturing the same.

Light guide for ring gauge illumination

Uniform illumination is provided to a ring-shaped or round instrument panel guage by a light-conducting ring made the exterior surface of which is roughened. The ring is formed to have a light inlet tab that receives illuminating light from a bulb or LED. The ring can have any odd or even-number of light inlet tabs.

Display device

An attenuation portion is to illuminate first and second display objects while attenuating light. A display element causes light to enter the attenuation portion to illuminate the first display object in a display region. A light source irradiates light to illuminate the second display object in the display region. A display forming member has a light-blocking layer and an attenuation layer. The light-blocking layer has a light-transmitting portion defining a shape of the second display object. The attenuation layer covers the light-blocking layer from a display region side to attenuate light, which is from the light source and passes through the light-transmitting portion. The display forming member indicates the second display object in the display region with emission of light which is attenuated through the attenuation layer and enters the attenuation portion.

VEHICULAR DISPLAY DEVICE

A vehicular display device includes: a display board (25) for displaying a scale; a liquid crystal display panel (53a) including an image display surface (53c) for displaying an image, and having an overlapping region (53d) in which the image display surface (53c) overlaps the display board (25) further rearward than the display board (25); a light source for illuminating the liquid crystal display panel (53a); and a first light guide body (23) for receiving light from the light source via the liquid crystal display panel (53a) and emitting the light.

The first light guide body (23) includes: a light receiving part (23i) disposed between the overlapping region (53d) of the image display surface (53c) and the display board (25), for receiving the light from the light source via the liquid crystal display panel (53a); and
