MINITURISED HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY
A holographic lighting apparatus includes at least two channels for the respective associated lighting functions. Each channel includes an edge-lit arrangement with an incoupling surface for coupling light from a light source into the arrangement, and an outcoupling surface; and a light source. The edge-lit arrangements of the channels are all included in a monolithic component having a common outcoupling surface, and each channel is arranged so as to be rotated about a surface normal of the outcoupling surface along an azimuthal arrangement angle. The component has at least one holographic structure for generating the lighting function of the relevant channel when said structure is illuminated by the light source of the channel. Also provided are a vehicle including a corresponding lighting apparatus, the use of the lighting apparatus as a display in a vehicle, and the lighting apparatus as an LED collimator.
LIGHTING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL AND VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL
A lighting device (100) for a vehicle steering wheel rim (10), comprising: at least two light sources (120), a light diffuser (130) comprising a collecting face (131) and a diffusion face (132) arranged so as to transmit light emitted by the light sources (120) to an occupant of the vehicle when the lighting device (100) is integrated in the rim (10), characterized in that the collecting face (131) comprises at least two protrusions (133) positioned with respect to the light sources (120) such that the light transmitted by the diffusion face (132) is uniform.
Pupillated illumination apparatus
A switchable backlight for a switchable privacy display apparatus comprises a collimated waveguide, first and second light sources and an optical turning film comprising elongate prismatic elements with facet orientations that pupillate the output of the waveguide in two orthogonal directions for each of first and second light sources. High luminance uniformity is achieved for a head-on user in privacy and public viewing modes and high uniformity of security factor is achieved for off-axis snoopers, with increased speed of privacy switch-on in privacy mode.
Component for vehicle interior
A component for a vehicle interior may comprise a light guide to allow light transmission from a light source for a user interface, and a cover to cover the light guide. The user interface may be presented at the cover. The cover may comprise a depression in an inner surface of the cover and the light guide may comprise a projection comprising a light-transmissive resin fit within the depression. The projection may comprise an icon to be presented at the user interface when illuminated, and to be hidden by the cover when not illuminated. The user interface may comprise a light display and an input device connected to a sensor. The icon may comprise an image. The cover thickness may be greater than the projection height. The component may comprise a steering wheel, console, floor console, center console, instrument panel, door panel, dashboard, display, armrest, or cockpit.
STEPPED LIGHT GUIDE FOR SIMULTANEOUS ILLUMINATION OF GRAPHICS AND CHAPLET TICKMARKS ON A VEHICLE INSTRUMENT PANEL DIAL
A block of light-transmissive material having a substantially planar top surface and a stepped bottom surface provides uniform or at least substantially uniform luminance to both graphics and tickmarks on a dial face for a motor vehicle instrument panel dial. The tickmarks are embodied as light-transmissive protuberances from the top surface.
VIRTUAL IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
A virtual image display device includes: a display unit that generates an image display light; and a projection optical system including a main concave mirror that reflects the image display light toward the virtual image presentation plate and an auxiliary concave mirror that reflects the image display light toward the main concave mirror. Defining a reference plane along both a direction of incidence and a direction of output of the image display light on the virtual image presentation plate, the main concave mirror is provided in an orientation that causes the image display light to be incident on the main concave mirror in a direction along the reference plane, and the auxiliary concave mirror is provided in an orientation that causes the image display light to be incident on the auxiliary concave mirror in a direction intersecting the reference plane.
VEHICLE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROVIDED WITH A MONOCHROMATIC DISPLAY
A vehicle instrument cluster including a monochromatic display having a matrix of pixels which can be independently controlled by a control unit to inhibit or to allow the passage of light. The instrument cluster has a back-lighting device that emits at least a monochromatic light beam toward a rear surface of the display and through a filter, which is light-permeable and is provided with a coloured graphic representation whose contours have a resolution higher than the one of the display.
DECORATION PLATE
A decoration plate including a light guide substrate, a decorative film, and a circuit board assembly is provided. The light guide substrate has a first surface and a second surface disposed on opposite sides, and has a first groove on the first surface. The decorative film is disposed on the second surface of the light guide substrate. The decorative film defines an operating region. The circuit board assembly is disposed on the first surface. The circuit board assembly includes a light-emitting element and a touch sensing layer. The light-emitting element is accommodated in the first groove. A position of the touch sensing layer corresponds to a position of an orthogonal projection of the operating region on the first surface.
Display Unit with Changing Symbols
A display unit includes a layer with a plurality of sub-regions which are arranged adjacently to one another along an illuminated edge of the layer. A corresponding number of symbols are arranged in the sub-regions. The display unit additionally has a plurality of light sources. The said light sources are arranged adjacently to one another along the illuminated edge of the layer. Each light source is configured to emit light into the respective sub-region of the layer via the illuminated edge of the layer. The display unit additionally has a limiting element which is arranged between the illuminated edge of the layer and the light sources and which is configured to limit the light emitted from the light sources for each sub-region such that the symbol in the respective sub-region is illuminated in a selective manner by the light sources.
METER STRUCTURE
A meter structure in which reduction in dimension of a display part can be attained and displays of indicators can be easily seen. The meter structure includes: a meter device provided with a display part; and a light source for indicators on an outer-peripheral side surface of the meter device.
