A vehicular display device which displays a marker image in a manner superimposed on a preceding vehicle in front of a vehicle when the vehicle is following the preceding vehicle while traveling, includes a display configured to display an image in a display area provided to overlap a position of a windshield included in the vehicle, a preceding vehicle detector configured to detect a position of the preceding vehicle, a display processor configured to cause the display to display the marker image corresponding to the position of the preceding vehicle detected by the preceding vehicle detector, and a determiner configured to determine whether the preceding vehicle is located on an inner side of vehicle widthwise side edges of the display area or on outer sides of the vehicle width direction side edges, based on the position of the preceding vehicle detected by the preceding vehicle detector.

Dashboard embedded hologram-based indicia

Disclosed herein are devices, methods and systems for producing hologram-based indicia for a vehicle dashboard/cockpit. By employing the aspects disclosed herein, indicia (electronically coupled to the vehicle's microprocessor), is lighted and projected in a three-dimensional virtual manner. The aspects disclosed herein may be embedded in various portions in the vehicle and thus, not consume extra space or area required to create virtual images through other techniques.

On-vehicle device, method of controlling on-vehicle device, and computer-readable storage medium

On the basis of information detected from a peripheral situation detecting section and information from an automatic driving support section, a display control section generates image data in which marks for driving support of an own vehicle are drawn so as to be superposed on a forward situation diagram that shows a situation at a front side. Further, from information detected by an eye detecting section and from the image data, the display control section sets a vanishing point in accordance with a height position of eyes and computes a display image. Moreover, on the basis of the information detected by the eye detecting section, the display control section causes a display image to be displayed on the front windshield glass by a HUD such that the vanishing point is set in accordance with the height position of the eyes.

The present invention relates to a display device provided in a vehicle, the display device including a first display configured to output first light forming first time information, a second display configured to output second light forming second visual information, and a light synthesizing unit disposed between the first and second displays and configured to transmit one of the first light and the second light and reflect another one so that the first light and the second light are directed to the same path, and wherein the light synthesizing unit is formed tiltable such that a reference angle formed between the light synthesizing unit and the first display varies.

Head-up display and vehicle

A refractive optical system is disposed in an optical path from a display surface to a viewing area and between a projection optical system and the viewing area. A housing receives a display device, the projection optical system, and the refractive optical system, and is provided with an opening. An opening cover has at least partially a curved portion, and is disposed in the opening so that light emitted from the display surface is incident on a convex side of the curved portion. When a light beam that is emitted from a center of the display surface and reaches a center of the viewing area is referred to as a reference light beam, a head-up display satisfies the following condition (1):
L2L1(1) where L1 is a distance from an end on the anterior side of the observer of the refractive optical system to the opening cover, and L2 is a distance from a position at which the reference light beam passes through the refractive optical system to the opening cover.
