A display device includes: a light projection device configured to project light; an optical mechanism configured to be able to adjust an optical distance to a virtual image; a concave mirror configured to reflect light toward a reflector; a first actuator configured to adjust the optical distance; a second actuator configured to adjust a reflection angle of the concave mirror; and a control device configured to determine a target optical distance and a target reflection angle based on a vehicle state or a situation around a vehicle, control the first actuator such that the optical distance approaches the target optical distance, and control the second actuator such that the reflection angle approaches the target reflection angle. The control device performs predetermined control such that the virtual image becoming a double image when the target optical distance is equal to or less than a predetermined distance is curbed.

DISPLAY DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A display device includes a light projection device which projects light including an image onto a reflector reflecting incident light to allow an observer to visually recognize the image included in the light reflected by the reflector as a virtual image, and a control device which causes the light projection device to output first light including a first image in a first case where a surrounding brightness is equal to or greater than a threshold value and causes the light projection device to output second light including a second image in a second case where the surrounding brightness is less than the threshold value.

ADJUSTMENT DEVICE, DISPLAY SYSTEM, AND ADJUSTMENT METHOD

A position of a virtual image corresponding to a display image in a view outside a vehicle is adjusted by adjustment of the display image. An adjustment device includes an adjustment unit for performing adjustment of the display image depending on operation input to an operation input device in a state where reference light, serving as a reference for the position of the virtual image, is emitted to a road surface, and an adjustment condition determining unit for detecting an adjustable distance range, in which the adjustment can be performed, in an adjustment target distance range set to be subjected to the adjustment, in which the adjustment unit performs the adjustment of the display image corresponding to the virtual image in the adjustable distance range in a state where the reference light is emitted to a road surface in the adjustable distance range.

An image projection apparatus includes an intermediate image forming member configured to form an intermediate image from light emitted by a light source device; and a plural-film optical member on which image light that forms the intermediate image is incident. The image projection apparatus uses the image light that is incident on the plural-film optical member to project an image, an image rotational position relationship in a rotational direction around an image center axis between the image that is projected and the intermediate image is such that a difference is present in image rotational positions, and the plural-film optical member is set in such a manner that a polarization axis of the image light incident on the plural-film optical member is parallel or perpendicular to a plane of incidence of the image light with respect to the plural-film optical member.

VEHICLE REAR MONITORING SYSTEM
