A method and a device for adjusting a display brightness value are provided. The method includes: acquiring a brightness value of a virtual image at an imaging position of an HUD and a brightness value of an environment where the virtual image is located; and adjusting the display brightness value of the HUD in accordance with the brightness value of the environment and the brightness value of the virtual image.

INFORMATION CONVEYANCE METHOD DURING AUTOMATIC DRIVING, AND IN-VEHICLE INFORMATION PRESENTATION DEVICE

The present invention ascertains an action schedule of an automatic driving system when a host vehicle is travelling in an automatic driving mode, and uses an indirect weak expression to convey the action schedule to a driver, at an action schedule presentation start location (P2) which has more leeway with respect to a scheduled action location (P1) (steps S16, S18). In the case of an acceleration/deceleration action schedule, an illuminance distribution of the speedometer dial plate, a virtual pointer or the like is used to express the action schedule such that the driver is able to intuitively ascertain the acceleration or deceleration. In the case of a steering action schedule, the steering direction is expressed using a change in illumination near the steering wheel representing the direction of steering or the like is used.

ON-BOARD DISPLAY DEVICE

An on-board display device installable in a vehicle cabin of a vehicle includes a liquid crystal panel and a light source. The liquid crystal panel displays an image of an outside of the vehicle, the image having been captured by a camera. The light source illuminates the liquid crystal panel. A direction of maximum luminance of the light source is a direction passing through an inside of an eye range preset in the vehicle. An equi-luminance line has a shape longer in a second direction that intersects a first direction than in the first direction in a luminance distribution map that represents luminance of the light source in each direction represented by a polar angle and an azimuth angle. The second direction and a longitudinal direction of an aggregate of points which represent polar angles and azimuth angles of tangential lines of the eye range, the tangential lines passing through the center of the liquid crystal panel, on the luminance distribution map are inclined to a same side with respect to a longitudinal direction of the liquid crystal panel.

DISPLAY DEVICE, AND DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD

A display device includes an image generator configured to generate a service image to be visually recognized by an observer by outputting light for forming an image toward a reflector reflecting incident light toward the observer's eyes and superimposing the light on a scene, a receiver configured to receive the observer's operation of reducing a visibility of the image, and a controller configured to control a visibility of the service image in accordance with the operation performed on the receiver, and the controller is configured to cause the image generator to generate a warning image in a case in which the operation of reducing the visibility to a predetermined degree is performed.

Head-up display apparatus
10558039 · 2020-02-11 · ·

A head-up display apparatus mounted on a moving body. The head-up display apparatus projects an image on a projecting portion. The head-up display apparatus includes a light source portion, an imaging element, a cold mirror, and a phase shifter. The light source portion emits a source light. The imaging element generates the image and outputs the light of the image. The light of the image has a predetermined polarization state. The cold mirror reflects the light of the image toward the projecting portion. In the cold mirror, an optical multilayer film is disposed on a translucent base member, and the light of the image obliquely enters the cold mirror along a plane of incidence of the cold mirror. The phase shifter converts the light of the image into an S wave. The phase shifter is disposed on an optical path between the imaging element and the cold mirror.

Provided are a head-up display device and an onboard display system capable of improving the visual appeal of a virtual image, from among multiple virtual images, that is associated with an actual scene. A HUD device displays a first virtual image, which is associated with an actual scene, and a second virtual image, which is not associated with the actual scene. The HUD device is equipped with a HUD control unit that sets the luminance of the first virtual image to be higher than the luminance of the second virtual image by a luminance difference, and sets the luminance difference to be larger as a light control value increases, such value being determined on the basis of the intensity of external light.

BRAKE CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT WITH AMBIENT LIGHT DIMMING

A brake control system includes a display, a processor, and a light sensor. The processor controls brakes of a towed vehicle. The processor also controls a brightness of the display based on information received from the light sensor. The light sensor may include a light dependent resistor or a photoresistor. The processor selectively sets or adjusts the brightness of the display based on sensed ambient light.

Provided is a vehicle display device that can improve visibility without providing a feeling of strangeness to a passenger. A vehicle display device includes a display unit provided in an inner side of an instrument panel and which projects a display image, a transparent cover that transmits the display image projected from the display unit toward a windshield, and a bezel body including an opening portion that allows the display image transmitted through the transparent cover to pass through and having an outer edge portion continuing into the windshield, and the degrees of brightness of respective reflected images of the instrument panel, the transparent cover, and the bezel body, the respective reflected images being reflected in the windshield, are made uniform, and therefore dark visual recognition of any of the reflected images is suppressed, and the feeling of strangeness provided to the passenger is relieved.

Head-up display device

The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently orient image light toward an observer. A display device outputs projection light for displaying an image. A transmission type screen forms an image of the projection light and diffuses the same as image light. A projection lens enlarges projection light and forms the image on the transmission type screen. A light distribution adjustment means is disposed between the transmission type screen and the projection lens and adjusts the light distribution of the image light output by the transmission type screen for each region by refracting the projection light.
