PROVIDING A COMMUNICATIONS CHANNEL BETWEEN INSTANCES OF AUTOMATED ASSISTANTS
Implementations relate to interactions, over a wireless communication modality, between an automated assistant of an automobile computer system, and separate client device(s). In some of those implementations, the client device(s) can be paired with the automobile computer system, and the client device(s) and the automobile computer system can include separate instances of an automated assistant, which can be associated with different user accounts. In some additional or alternative implementations, particular actions to be performed by a local application of a client device can be advanced via user interaction with the automobile automated assistant, despite a counterpart to the local application not being installed directly on automobile computer system. For example, despite an automobile computer system not having a third-party messaging application installed, the automobile automated assistant can access requested actions to be performed by the third-party messaging application in order to further a requested action. The automobile computer system can transmit, via the wireless communication modality, content to cause the third-party application to further the requested action.
Audio User Interface
Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable medium are provided for controlling an audio system in a vehicle. At least two sub-panels are presented via a display and at least one of the sub-panels provides one or more audio setting options for a first individual or group of occupant locations. The audio setting options are distinct relative to a second individual or group of occupant locations. User selections are received via an input sensor, such as a touchscreen incorporated into the display or separate buttons, knobs, touch-sensitive inputs, or the like. The audio system is controlled in accord with the user selections.
VEHICLE INFORMATION OUTPUT DEVICE AND VEHICLE INFORMATION OUTPUT SYSTEM
A vehicle information output device (100) includes an output unit (110) configured to output information to inside of a vehicle, a starting unit (104) configured to execute starting processing in a case that the power supply is turned on, a communication unit (120) configured to communicate with an external device via a network, a communication control unit (134) configured to acquire output information stored in the external device via the communication unit, and an output control unit (136) configured to cause the output unit to output the output information acquired by the communication control unit before starting processing by the starting unit is completed.
Display audio device
This DA device is installed in a vehicle and works in tandem with a portable information terminal in outputting information, said DA device being provided with: a main body section; a display section that can be opened and closed relative to the main body section; a holder part for holding the information terminal, said holder part being connected to the back surface of the display section and opening and closing together with the display section; an electric circuit that is housed in the main body section; and an opening and closing mechanism for switching the display section between an open state in which the holder part is exposed to the outside of a case and a closed state in which the holder part is inside the case.
Using a vehicle's on-board diagnostic (OBD) system for audio reminders
A method, performed by an on-board diagnostic (OBD) interface coupled to a diagnostic port of a vehicle, including receiving, via a wireless network, a message containing text from a user device associated with a user; converting the text contained in the message into an audio file that corresponds to an audio reminder; detecting a key-on event for the vehicle; establishing, responsive to the key-on event, a first wireless connection to a speaker device located in the vehicle; sending, via the first wireless connection, a notification to the speaker device that the audio reminder is pending; terminating, after the notification is sent, the first wireless connection; establishing a second wireless connection to the speaker device; and transferring the audio file to the speaker device via the second wireless connection.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PAYMENT BY USING AN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DEVICE
A method for payment to fulfill a transaction includes steps of: by a payment certification reader of a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, reading a payment certification from an instrument cluster device of a vehicle, and transmitting the payment certification to a POS computer of the POS terminal; by the POS computer via the Internet, enabling a portable device to transmit payment information to the instrument cluster device; by the instrument cluster device, displaying the payment information; by the instrument cluster device after the transaction has been confirmed by a user operation on the vehicle, enabling the portable device to process the payment; and by the portable device, transmitting a confirmation message to the instrument cluster device.
Stateful integration of a vehicle information system user interface with mobile device operations
A method, device, and vehicle information system are provided for persisting application context from the vehicle information system to the mobile device. The mobile device provides access to at least one application executing on the mobile device to the vehicle information system. On termination of that access, an operating context is determined for each of the mobile device applications where possible. In some cases, where application context is persisted from one system or device to the other, the current data is presented in accordance with a transport modality associated with the other device or system.
In-vehicle phone finder
A system and method for locating a portable electronic device that is paired with a vehicle that uses a plurality of antennas located on an exterior of a body of the vehicle, within an interior cabin of the vehicle, or located on the exterior of the body and within the interior cabin of the vehicle to communicate with the portable electronic device, and displays a location of the portable electronic device within or near the vehicle based on the communication between the plurality of antennas and the portable electronic device on a graphic display interface of the vehicle.
DISPLAY SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
The present application discloses systems and methods to present information to recreational vehicle riders and to provide customizable visual information to recreational vehicle riders. The present application further discloses systems and methods to connect and transmit audio information between a driver portable communication device and a driver audio interface device through the recreational vehicle and audio information between a passenger portable communication device and a passenger audio interface device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR VEHICULAR MOBILE OFFICE SERVICES
A system includes a processor configured to detect a presence of a docked phone and responsively determine whether a vehicle is in a predetermined safe-state for mobile office functionality. The processor is also configured to engage desktop functionality on a vehicle display, responsive to determining that the vehicle is in the safe-state. The processor is additionally configured to engage an application to translate keyboard and mouse controls into phone controls and enable a wireless keyboard and a mouse for control of the vehicle display.
