Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure builds on integrating existing technology with new devices, methods, and systems to provide a complete vehicle ecosystem.

Methods and Systems for Enabling a Vehicle Drive-Away

A vehicle computing system includes a processor connected to a transceiver and programmed to prompt an occupant via a user interface to pair a device detected by the transceiver. The processor is further programmed to receive input at the user interface to associate the device with a pre-approval setting for enabling a vehicle start request when the device having the pre-approval setting and a vehicle key are detected by the processor.

VEHICLE-WEARABLE DEVICE INTERFACE AND METHODS FOR USING THE SAME
20170123503 · 2017-05-04 ·

A transportation vehicle system, for providing feedback to a user-worn wearable device, including a hardware-based processing unit and a hardware-based computer-readable storage device. The device includes a vehicle-function identification module that, when executed by the processing unit determines that a trigger condition has occurred. The vehicle-function identification module also determines, for responding to the trigger condition, a wearable-communication function including transmitting a vehicle signal to the wearable device. An activation module causes the processing unit to initiate transmitting the vehicle signal to the wearable device. The technology also includes the device, along, and processes for performing the operations disclosed.

Driver alert system for speed and acceleration thresholds

A system for alerting drivers when a vehicle is or may be likely to be traveling in excess of a speed limit is provided. The system evaluates vehicle speed and provides custom warnings for various speed-related occurrences including a prediction that based on an instantaneous speed and acceleration the vehicle is about to exceed the speed limit. Haptic feedback from a wearable device such as a smart watch may preferably provide distinct intensities of warning between actual and predicted excursions over a limit.

Display device

A display device that is to be connected with an information terminal includes: a video reception unit that receives video information about a screen including a cursor from the information terminal; a touch panel that brings up on display the screen based upon the video information received by the video reception unit and detects a touch position specified by a touch operation; and a transmission unit that transmits, to the information terminal, displacement quantity information corresponding to a quantity of displacement from the display position of the cursor to the touch position.

VEHICLE MIDDLEWARE
20170093643 · 2017-03-30 ·

The present disclosure describes a vehicle implementing one or more processing modules. These modules are configured to connect and interface with the various buses in the vehicle, where the various buses are connected with the various components of the vehicle to facilitate information transfer among the vehicle components. Each processing module is further modularized with the ability to add and replace other functional modules now or in the future. These functional modules can themselves act as distinct vehicle components. Each processing modules may hand-off processing to other modules depending on its health, processing load, or by third-party control. Thus, the plurality of processing modules helps to implement a middleware point of control to the vehicle with redundancy in processing and safety and security awareness in their applications.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR UTILIZING SMART TOYS WITH VEHICLE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS
20170094346 · 2017-03-30 · ·

A method of operating a rear seat entertainment system in a vehicle includes establishing a wireless data connection between the rear seat entertainment system and a smart toy provided within the vehicle; determining the type of the smart toy; and operating the rear seat entertainment system based on the type of the smart toy and user interaction with the smart toy.

Lane level road views

Methods for providing a lane-level road view include: (a) accessing lane-specific data comprising information characterizing a first segment of a first lane of a road in a direction of travel; and (b) communicating at least a portion of the lane-specific data to a client. Apparatuses for providing lane-level road views are described.

DYNAMIC VEHICLE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A method for dynamic notification generation for a driver of a vehicle, including receiving a first data set indicative of vehicle operation, predicting an imminent driving event based on the first data set, determining a notification associated with the imminent driving event, controlling a vehicle notification system to provide the notification, receiving a second data set indicative of vehicle operation, determining a notification effect of the notification on a behavior of a driver of the vehicle, and generating a user profile based on the notification effect.

INTEGRATION OF ADD-ON INTERIOR MODULES INTO DRIVER USER INTERFACE

A listing of wireless in-vehicle components installed to a vehicle may be maintained by the vehicle. The listing may include in-vehicle components that are factory-installed to the vehicle as well as add-on in-vehicle components that may be added or removed by a user. A wireless transceiver may scan for changes to the add-on in-vehicle components within the vehicle. A user interface may display a unified interface including both the factory-installed wireless in-vehicle components and the add-on wireless in-vehicle components. A user may review and adjust the configuration of the in-vehicle components of the in-vehicle components using the user interface.
