Systems and methods for promoting connectivity between a mobile communication device having a touch screen and a vehicle touch screen installed in a vehicle are disclosed. According to an embodiments, a system may include a controller configured to: connect to the mobile communication device and to the vehicle touch screen. The controller may also be configured to receive video signal of a current screen video image shown on the touch screen of the mobile communication device and transmit the current video image to the vehicle touch screen, causing a corresponding video image of the current screen video image to be displayed on the vehicle touch screen. The controller may further be configured to receive a signal indicative of a touch action that was performed on the vehicle touch screen, and cause the mobile communication device to respond as if a touch action corresponding to the touch action that was performed on the vehicle touch screen was performed on the touch screen of the mobile communication device.

A vehicle-mounted device installed in a vehicle comprising a mobile terminal communication unit that communicates with a mobile terminal located inside the vehicle, and a control unit that provides an interface for operating the vehicle-mounted device from the mobile terminal, wherein the control unit compares a vehicle interior image taken inside the vehicle interior with a facial image of the user of the mobile terminal and changes the interface provided to the mobile terminal based on the determined seating position of the user. A system to enhance performance and usability of a state machine implementation by an electronic control unit within a vehicle having autonomous operating capabilities is provided. The state machine provides an escalation state used to exit from status quo. The vehicle driver has a mobile device within the vehicle. The system includes an enhanced state machine configured to use the mobile device. The mobile device non-intrusively captures multimodal driver engageability data and generates an enhanced engageability score. The enhanced engageability score augmenting a decision by the state machine on whether the escalation stat transition shall occur. The enhanced state machine additionally provides a signal to alert the driver through the mobile device that the escalation state is imminent.

A vehicle notification system according to a first aspect includes: a terminal installation portion that is provided at a periphery of a driver's seat of a vehicle capable of autonomous driving in which all driving operations are performed under certain conditions, and that is configured such that a portable terminal can be installed at the terminal installation portion; and a control section that is configured to permit the autonomous driving in a case in which a portable terminal is detected as being installed at the terminal installation portion, and is configured to notify the portable terminal in a case in which a predetermined condition in an autonomous driving state is satisfied.
