An information display system includes a steering wheel including a ring portion and an upper opening region within the ring portion, an instrument cluster arrangement positioned forward of the steering wheel, and an electronic control unit. The instrument cluster arrangement includes a first gauge having a first fixing member on a portion of a boundary of the first gauge, and a second gauge having a second fixing member on a portion of a boundary of the second gauge. The first fixing member and the second fixing member are configured to hold a handheld device placed between the first and second gauges, and the first and second gauges are positioned such that when the handheld device is placed between the first and second gauges the handheld device is visible through the upper opening region.

Stateful integration of a vehicle information system user interface with mobile device operations
A method, device, and vehicle information system are provided for persisting application context from the vehicle information system to the mobile device. The mobile device provides access to at least one application executing on the mobile device to the vehicle information system. On termination of that access, an operating context is determined for each of the mobile device applications where possible. In some cases, where application context is persisted from one system or device to the other, the current data is presented in accordance with a transport modality associated with the other device or system.

An operating arrangement for a construction machine comprises an operating device which comprises a touch-sensitive display for inputting operating instructions by an operator, and an operating mask with localization markers. The operating device comprises at least a first alignment feature for aligning the operating mask on the operating device in a pre-defined operating position relative to the operating device. The operating mask is detachably attached to the operating device in the operating position, wherein the operating mask at least partially covers the touch-sensitive display, and wherein the location markers of the operating mask lie over specified areas of the display and facilitate locating the specified areas of the display for inputting instructions.
Motorcycle with a multifunctional device
A motorcycle includes a display unit for representing information on the driving state and operating parameters of the motorcycle, an operating unit to generate control commands for controlling the display unit, and a multifunctional device with a screen. An application can be installed on the multifunctional device to allow other applications installed on the multifunctional device to be opened. The selection of further applications to be opened by the application can be represented on the screen in the form of pictograms. A control unit uses control commands for controlling the application, and the further applications to be opened by the application can be transmitted to the multifunctional device. The control commands for controlling the application, and the further applications to be opened by the application, can be generated by the operating unit, and a switching device can switch between control of the display unit and control of the multifunctional device.

The present disclosure is directed to state-based autonomous-vehicle operations. In particular, the methods, devices, and systems of the present disclosure can: determine, based at least in part on one or more actions of a passenger associated with a trip of an autonomous vehicle, a current state of the trip from amongst a plurality of different predefined states of the trip; identify, based at least in part on the current state of the trip, one or more computing devices associated with the passenger; generate, based at least in part on the current state of the trip, data describing one or more interfaces for display by the computing device(s) associated with the passenger; and communicate, to the computing device(s) associated with the passenger, the data describing the interface(s) for display.
SYSTEM FOR SETTING A LANGUAGE FOR A DASHBOARD DEVICE OF A VEHICLE
A dashboard device of a vehicle includes a storage component and a processor. The storage component stores a plurality of different language packs and a first national table listing a first number of unique language indices associated respectively with the language packs. The processor is coupled to the storage component and is programmed to, in response to receipt of a machine code and a second number related to another plurality of unique language indices from a portable electronic device, use one of the language packs to set language used on the dashboard device based on content of the machine code and a relationship between the first and second numbers.
Determination of continuous user interaction and intent through measurement of force variability
A system for controlling a vehicle from a remote device, such as a mobile device, is disclosed. In one embodiment, the mobile device includes a mobile phone. In other embodiments, any device capable of receiving user input to control the movement may be used. In one embodiment, the system includes a user input receiving module coupled to a processor and configured to receive variations in user input forces applied to a touch-sensitive user interface over a period of time, wherein the intentional or unintentional variations in user input forces over the period of time are indicative of user intent to control the vehicle.

An electronic customization system designed to allow an automotive interior to be customizable via a user terminal. The electronic customization system comprises electronic customization displays integrated in corresponding aesthetic/functional components of the automotive interior, and an electronic control unit configured to communicate and cooperate with the user terminal in order to allow the automotive interior to be customizable via the user terminal. The user terminal is configured to expose a graphical user interface configured to allow digital decorative wallpapers to be selectable for display on the electronic customization displays, and to transmit to the electronic control unit data indicative of the selected digital decorative wallpapers. The electronic control unit is configured to receive data indicative of the selected digital decorative wallpapers from the user terminal, and to cause the selected digital decorative wallpapers to be displayed on the electronic customization displays.
