Methods And Apparatus For Checking Emitter Bonds In An Irrigation Drip Line
Methods and apparatus for checking emitter bonds in an irrigation drip line and for manufacturing drip line in a manner that allows the bond between the in-line emitter and surrounding conduit to be checked. In one form, a downstream in-line vacuum tester is provided for monitoring the amount of air escaping from outlet openings in the drip line to detect excessive air associated with poorly bonded emitters.
Installation tool and method for irrigation drip line couplers
A tool, which may have an integral body, serves several functions in installing drip tubes to main drip lines with a coupler. The tool has a needle which punctures holes in the main drip line for insertion of one end of the coupler. The tool has a slotted head which grasps the coupler facilitating the insertion of the coupler into the hole in the main line. Embodiments of the tool may also have apertures in the tool which fit around the coupler for facilitating the insertion of an end of the coupler into the open end of the drip tube.
ELASTOMERIC EMITTER AND METHODS RELATING TO SAME
An irrigation drip emitter, and methods relating to same, are provided for delivering irrigation water from a supply tube to an emitter outlet at a reduced and relatively constant flow rate. The emitter having at least one movable member for compensating for fluctuations in supply line fluid pressure. In one form the movable member includes a tapered baffle section movable between a first position wherein fluid is allowed to flow over the tapered baffle section and a second position wherein fluid is prevented from flowing over at least a portion of the tapered baffle section and the tapered baffle section effectively lengthening the extent of a pressure reduction passage. In another form, first and second movable members are provided for compensating for such pressure fluctuations. In another form, a plurality of inputs are provided which are movable between first and second positions to compensate for such pressure fluctuations.
Device and method for detecting a dripper
A dripper detection device for an irrigation pipe manufacturing system includes a continuous pipe feeder capable of making a pipe equipped with drippers, each dripper having a water outlet. The pipe circulates along a predetermined circulation direction (X-X) while keeping the drippers' water outlets in a predetermined orientation. The dripper detection device includes a laser detection unit with a laser source emitting a laser beam directed to the pipe outer face location where drippers are present at regular intervals, and a laser signal receiver which receives and analyses the laser beam reflected on the pipe outer face to provide a transformed reflected signal which contains information about the passage of each dripper facing said laser detection unit.
DRIP LINE AND EMITTER AND METHODS RELATING TO SAME
An irrigation emitter and drip line, and methods relating to same, are provided for reducing the flow and pressure of fluid via an emitter or plurality of emitters defined by two concentric tubes. In one form, the first tube defines an emitter inlet and connected pressure-reducing flow channel and the second tube is extruded over the first tube to enclose the emitter inlet and flow channel and defines an outlet connected to an end of the flow channel opposite the inlet to create an emitter for converting fluid flowing at a high flow rate in the lumen and at the first end of the inlet to a fluid with a low flow rate at the outlet of the emitter. In another form, a drip line is provided having a plurality of such emitters. Various other forms and methods relating to the emitter and drip line are also disclosed.
IN LINE BUTTON DRIP EMITTER
A drip irrigation emitter may be provided with a coupler for bonding to an inner surface of a conduit. The emitter may include for example a button flow restrictor. The coupler may optionally provide an outlet zone on the conduit surface that is large enough for automated perforation. Bonding the emitter to the surface of the conduit may have a minimal effect on the dimensions and/or properties of the conduit. A button drip irrigation emitter may optionally include a two part labyrinth. The labyrinth may for example be confined between a cylindrical surface and a cover and/or wind between intermeshing baffles on the cover and/or the surface.
Device and method for repeatedly installing drip irrigation emitters
The invention provides a device and method for repeatedly installing drip irrigation emitters into drip irrigation tubing. The device can be provided with a magazine capable of holding a plurality of drip irrigation emitters. The magazine feeds individual drip irrigation emitters to a plunger and sleeve arrangement that cooperate to guide the drip irrigation emitters through the device's housing and into a section of drip irrigation tubing.
