Control and display module for a motor vehicle having a capacitive touchpad
The invention relates to a control and display module for a motor vehicle, comprising a screen (2), a capacitive touch panel (3) on top of the screen (2) and a frame (7) surrounding the capacitive touch panel (3) and having one edge (8) overlapping a peripheral edge of said panel (3), thereby forming a cavity between the capacitive touch panel (3) and the frame (7). The module is characterized in that it comprises a glass plate (9) glued to the capacitive touch panel (3), closing the cavity in order to reduce at least partially the difference between the levels of the capacitive touch panel (3) and the upper surface of the frame (7).
Interior design element with integrated screen
An interior design element for a motor vehicle, comprising a carrier, a screen element, a decor layer having at least one perforated section, at least one lighting element, and a control unit coupled to the screen element and to the lighting element. The screen element and the decor layer are arranged adjacent to one another on the carrier. The perforated section borders the screen element and is penetrable with light from the lighting element. The screen element and the perforated section together form a common display surface, wherein the control unit splits up image information into information portions and activates the lighting element and the screen element such that the information portions can be displayed in the perforated section and in the screen element. The information portions displayed in the perforated section and in the screen element complement each other and in total represent the complete image information.
DISPLAY DEVICE EMPLOYING A VIRTUAL PLANE OVERLAYING MECHANICAL INDICIA
Display device is disclosed herein, and may be implementable in a variety of contexts, including a motor vehicle (for example, the instrument cluster). A semi-transparent plane is essentially placed in between a display and a mechanical element member. This allows a virtual projection of information over the mechanical plane in an on-state, while the mechanical element shows non-indicia during the off state.
Cold forming of complexly curved glass articles
Embodiments of this disclosure pertain to a vehicle interior system comprising a base having a base surface; and a glass article coupled to the surface, wherein the glass article comprises a first portion comprising a first elastically deformed surface forming a first concave shape with a first radius of curvature from about 20 mm to about 2000 mm, and a second elastically deformed surface directly opposite the first elastically deformed surface that forms a second convex shape, wherein the second elastically deformed surface has a surface compressive stress that is less than a compressive stress at the first elastically deformed surface, and a second portion adjacent the first portion, wherein the second portion is substantially planar portion or curved.
VEHICULAR DISPLAY DEVICE
Provided is a vehicular display device that offers good visibility without causing a passenger to feel uncomfortable. In a bezel that includes a cover portion arranged above a display unit of a vehicular display device and a frame portion enclosing the cover portion, a front-side end portion of the cover portion is arranged at a position lower than a rear-side end portion. As a result, external light is reflected forward. Moreover, a front frame includes a reflecting plate, a semi-transparent output plate covering over the reflecting plate, and a light-collecting portion collecting external light that enters from a front into a space enclosed by the reflecting plate and the output plate. As a result, the front frame is prevented from being darkly reflected onto a front glass.

GLASS-COVERED VEHICLE INTERIOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FORMING THE SAME
Embodiments of a vehicle interior system are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the system includes a base with a curved surface, and a cold-formed glass substrate removably disposed on the curved surface, wherein the curved surface and the glass substrate each have a radius of curvature within 10% of one another. The base may include a center console, a dashboard, an arm rest, a pillar, a seat back, a floor board, a headrest, a door panel, or a steering wheel. In one or more embodiments, the curved surface includes a display, and the glass substrate is disposed at least partially over the display. Methods for forming such systems are also disclosed.
VEHICLE INTERIOR SYSTEMS HAVING A CURVED COVER GLASS AND A DISPLAY OR TOUCH PANEL AND METHODS FOR FORMING THE SAME
Embodiments of a vehicle interior system are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the system includes a base with a curved surface, and a display or touch panel disposed on the curved surface. The display includes a cold-bent glass substrate with a thickness of 1.5 mm or less and a first radius of curvature of 20 mm or greater, and a display module and/or touch panel attached to the glass substrate having a second radius of curvature that is within 10% of the first radius of curvature. Methods for forming such systems are also disclosed.

SELECTIVE LIGHTING FOR INDICIA
A method, system, and devices for implementing a selectively lighted instrument cluster are disclosed herein. The aspects employ a light house layer (or collection of light house layers) using a combination of light and dark materials to provide individually lit indicia on a cover layer (i.e. applique layer) of an instrument cluster. The combination of light and dark layers selectively applied prevents light leakage into other non-intended portions on the viewable surface of the instrument cluster.
