A through the road (TTR) hybridization strategy is proposed to facilitate introduction of hybrid electric vehicle technology in a significant portion of current and expected trucking fleets. In some cases, the technologies can be retrofitted onto an existing vehicle (e.g., a trailer, a tractor-trailer configuration, etc.). In some cases, the technologies can be built into new vehicles. In some cases, one vehicle may be built or retrofitted to operate in tandem with another and provide the hybridization benefits contemplated herein. By supplementing motive forces delivered through a primary drivetrain and fuel-fed engine with supplemental torque delivered at one or more electrically-powered drive axles, improvements in overall fuel efficiency and performance may be delivered, typically without significant redesign of existing components and systems that have been proven in the trucking industry.

CONTROL APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE DRIVE-FORCE TRANSMITTING APPARATUS
20200088269 · 2020-03-19 · ·

A control apparatus for a drive-force transmitting apparatus that defines a first drive-force transmitting path that is to be established by engagements of a first frictional engagement device and a dog clutch and a second drive-force transmitting path in which a lower gear ratio is provided than in the first drive-force transmitting path. In a second running mode with the second drive-force transmitting path being established, the control apparatus places the dog clutch in a released state when a vehicle running speed is higher than a first speed value, and places the dog clutch in an engaged state when the running speed is not higher than the first speed value. Further, in the second running mode, the control apparatus inhibits the dog clutch from being switched to the released state when an accumulated heat quantity in a synchromesh mechanism of the dog clutch is larger than a first quantity value.

Control method for electric vehicle and control device for electric vehicle

A control method for an electric vehicle controls braking force when the accelerator operation amount is less than a prescribed value and controls drive force when the accelerator operation amount is at least a prescribed value. The electric vehicle control method estimates disturbance torque that acts on the motor as a resistance component relating to gradient; and executes correction whereby the braking force or the drive force is increased/decreased on the basis of the disturbance torque estimated value, such that the resistance component is negated. A determination is made regarding whether or not the accelerator operation amount is a partial equivalent amount and, if at least either the accelerator operation amount on a downhill road is greater than the partial equivalent amount or the accelerator operation amount on an uphill road is less than the partial equivalent amount, the correction amount is reduced.

Controller for driving a motor, and electric power assisted vehicle

In one aspect, a controller for driving a motor of the present invention includes a driving control unit that controls driving of a motor, and a regenerative control unit that instructs the driving control unit to start regeneration when a signal from a pedal rotation sensor that detects a rotation direction of the pedal indicates that the rotation direction of the pedal is backwards, the regenerative control unit controlling an amount of the regeneration in accordance with a backward rotation amount of the pedal while the rotation direction of the pedal is backwards, the backward rotation amount being obtained by the pedal rotation sensor.

This application discloses a vehicle, a ramp auxiliary system of the vehicle and a control method thereof. The vehicle is driven by a rim motor. The method includes: acquiring current state information of the vehicle; determining whether the ramp auxiliary system meets preset activation conditions or not according to the current state information, wherein the preset activation conditions are used for activating the ramp auxiliary system; activating the ramp auxiliary system if the ramp auxiliary system meets the preset activation conditions; determining whether to control the vehicle to be in a torque keeping mode or not according to the current state information, wherein torque for driving the vehicle is kept unchanged in the torque keeping mode; and when the vehicle is in the torque keeping mode, driving the vehicle according to the preset torque to prevent the vehicle from slipping.

MINING MACHINE AND ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM FOR SAME

A mobile mining machine includes a plurality of traction elements, a plurality of motors, a power source in electrical communication with the plurality of motors, and an energy storage system in electrical communication with the plurality of motors and the power source. Each of the motors is coupled to an associated one of the plurality of traction elements. Each of the motors is driven by the associated traction element in a first mode, and drives the associated traction element in a second mode. The energy storage system includes a shaft, a rotor secured to the shaft, a stator extending around the rotor, and a flywheel coupled to the shaft for rotation therewith. In the first mode, rotation of the motors causes rotation of the flywheel to store kinetic energy. In the second mode, rotation of the rotor and the flywheel discharges kinetic energy to drive the motors.
