A first and a second source of energy provide electrical energy to power at least one piece of consumer equipment of the vehicle. An intermediate energy transmission system receives electrical energy provided by at least one of the two sources of energy and transfers it to the at least one piece of consumer equipment. An energy conversion-control system applies, at the input of the intermediate energy transmission system, the electrical energy to be provided, adjusted depending on the operational state of the first source of energy and on an input signal indicative of an operational state of the second source. The first source of energy includes an internal combustion engine connected to a permanent-magnet alternator that is placed between the internal combustion engine and the energy conversion-control system.

The second actuator is positioned to eject the charging plug from the charging assembly when the retaining interface is in the release position.

The electromagnetic device is configured to receive stored energy from the energy storage system and provide a mechanical output to selectively drive the water pump and the at least one of the front axle or the rear axle.

A vehicle control system determines an upper non-zero limit on deceleration of a vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle down a grade being traveled up on by the vehicle. The upper non-zero limit on deceleration is determined by the controller based on a payload carried by the vehicle, a speed of the vehicle, and a grade of a route being traveled upon by the vehicle. The controller is configured to monitor the deceleration of the vehicle, and to automatically prevent the deceleration of the vehicle from exceeding the upper non-zero limit by controlling one or more of a brake or a motor of the vehicle. The controller also is configured to one or more of actuate the brake or supply current to the motor of the vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle while the vehicle is moving up the grade at a non-zero speed.
