An example operation includes one or more of providing to a charging station a distance desired to be driven by a transport and determining, by the charging station, an amount of energy to retrieve from the transport such that a residual amount of energy in the transport is equivalent to the distance desired to be driven.

METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF AN ELECTRIC ENERGY STORAGE DEVICE

Methods and systems for controlling a temperature of an electric energy storage device of via a cooling device are disclosed. In one example, a temperature of an electric energy storage device may be permitted to increase when a vehicle is within a threshold distance of an expected parking location of the vehicle so that less electrical energy of the electric energy storage device may be consumed.

Recipient-Assisted Vehicle Recharging

Methods and systems for recipient-assisted recharging during delivery by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are disclosed herein. During a UAV transport task, a UAV determines that the UAV has arrived at a delivery location specified by a first flight leg of the transport task. The UAV responsively initiates a notification process indicating that a recipient-assisted recharging process should be initiated at or near the delivery location. When the UAV determines that the recipient-assisted recharging process has recharged a battery of the UAV to a target level, and also determines that a non-returnable portion of the payload has been removed from the UAV while a returnable portion of the payload is coupled to or held by the UAV, the UAV initiates a second flight segment of the transport task.

A method for determining a remaining range of a vehicle, including: determining a remaining range of the vehicle driven depending on a current residual energy of a power battery, determining a remaining range of the vehicle driven depending on a current residual energy of a fuel cell, and determining a remaining range of the vehicle driven depending on a recuperated energy when an energy recuperation function of the vehicle is activated; and determining the remaining range of the vehicle based on the aforesaid remaining ranges of the vehicle. According to this method of the present disclosure, the remaining range of the vehicle may be accurately reflected, and it is more convenient for a user to schedule a vehicle trip.

CHARGER PEAK POWER OPTIMIZATION FOR FLEET DEPOT

A system for charging electric vehicles is disclosed, comprising: vehicle chargers coupled to an electric power grid; and a controller in communication with the chargers and vehicles and configured to execute software to cause the controller to: determine characteristics of each vehicle, the characteristics including a charge capacity of a battery system of each vehicle and a mission schedule; determine characteristics of each charger, the characteristics including a type of each charger and a charging capacity; process the characteristics of each vehicle and each charger to identify charging opportunities for each vehicle over the course of a time period; and perform a peak power optimization analysis to generate a vehicle charging profile configured to activate a minimum number of chargers simultaneously and to minimize downtimes of the plurality of chargers to thereby distribute the power demand from the electric power grid and result in an initial peak power demand.

TRAVEL SUPPORT CONTROL DEVICE FOR HYBRID VEHICLE

When an adjustment target road in which a state of charge of the battery needs to be actively adjusted such as a congested road or a downhill road has been detected in the travel route based on the look-ahead information, the travel support control device performs state-of-charge adjustment control up to the adjustment target road. The travel support control device detects the adjustment target road based on look-ahead information generated for an estimated route on which it is estimated that the hybrid vehicle is to travel when the travel route has not been set, and performs the state-of-charge adjustment control up to the adjustment target road when the adjustment target road has been detected. At this time, a detection range for detecting a congested road and a detection range for detecting a downhill road in the estimated route are different.

A travel support control device: creates a travel support plan in which one of travel modes including a CD mode and a CS mode is assigned to each travel section based on look-ahead information generated for a travel route to allow a hybrid electric vehicle to travel and calculates a total distance of electric traveling on the travel route; creates a travel support plan for travel sections to a travel section immediately before an information non-acquirable area in which information required for creating the look-ahead information is not acquirable and calculates the total distance of electric traveling on the travel route, when the information non-acquirable area is included in the travel route; and stops switching of the travel mode based on travel support control and continuously calculates the total distance of electric traveling on the travel route, when the hybrid electric vehicle is traveling in the information non-acquirable area.

RUNNING MODE PROPOSAL DEVICE, NAVIGATION DEVICE, AND RUNNING CONTROL DEVICE

A running mode proposal device for proposing a running mode up to a destination of a vehicle is configured to: select a first running route by a predetermined algorithm unrelated to noncontact power supply; project, when assuming the vehicle runs on a predetermined running route, a value of a parameter relating to an electric energy projected as being supplied at a power supply section on the running route to the vehicle; select a second running route by which a projected supplied electric energy will be greater than a predetermined standard electric energy if the projected value of the parameter when assuming the vehicle runs on the first running route is a value indicating the projected supplied electric energy is less than the standard electric energy; and propose, as the running route, the first running route, and, when the second running route is selected, further proposing a second running route.

COLLECTIVE VEHICLE POWER MANAGEMENT

A computer is programmed to allocate a plurality of electric vehicles with associated electric machines to locations to perform tasks based on the charges of the electric vehicles and electric machines and expected energy consumptions of the electric vehicles traveling to the locations and of the electric machines performing the tasks at the locations; and in response to a sum of the charges of a first electric vehicle and the electric machines associated with the first electric vehicle being less than a sum of the expected energy consumptions of the first electric vehicle traveling to a first location and of the electric machines associated with the first electric vehicle performing the tasks at the first location, instruct a second electric vehicle to travel to a second location at which the first electric vehicle will be located.
