APPARATUS FOR SENSING REMAINING PASSENGER IN VEHICLE AND GENERATING ALARM
Provided is an apparatus for sensing a remaining passenger in a vehicle and generating an alarm. The apparatus includes a first sensor unit provided on the ceiling of the inside of the vehicle and configured to sense presence or absence of a remaining passenger per seat when a door of a driver's seat is open in an engine off or on state, and a controller configured to generate an alarm when there is a remaining passenger in a seat other than the driver's seat when the engine is turned off and to determine whether the door of the driver's seat is closed and generate an alarm when the first sensor unit senses exit of a driver and presence of a remaining passenger.
Integrated sensor arrangement for automated auxiliary component adjustments
A vehicle adjustment assembly including sensors for adjusting the position of an auxiliary component of the vehicle is disclosed. The sensor is connected to the vehicle and is configured to detect a user's characteristics. The sensor generates data regarding the user's characteristics, and a computer receives the data generated by the sensor related to the user's characteristics. The auxiliary system is adjusted via input signals from the computer in response to the data generated by the sensor.
CHILD SEAT RESTRAINING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A child car seat system includes a car seat having a strap with a restraining device to secure over a body of a child; a sensing system to be incorporated into the restraining device, the sensing system having a first sensor associated with a first half of the restraining device; a second sensor associated with a second half of the restraining device; a third sensor secured positioned within a body of the restraining device; a control system in electrical communication with the first, second, and third sensors; and an alarm in communication with the control system; the alarm is activated via the control system when the first sensor and the second sensor are separated from one another, such as when the restraining device is unsecure; and the third sensor is to alert the control system when the car seat is occupied.
EXTERNAL ALERT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE DOOR OPENING
A vehicle is provided that includes a safety system that can provide an alert, external to the vehicle, that can warn other vehicles, people, etc. that a driver and/or passenger(s) are exiting the vehicle. Methods and systems determine when an occupant of a vehicle is about to exit by sensing the exit movement or an exit sequence, which may be detected by internal vehicle sensors. In response to the exit sequence, the vehicle may control one or more alert features, associated with the vehicle, to provide an external alert to other vehicles and/or users outside of the vehicle that a driver and/or passenger(s) is/are about to exit.
Seat
A car seat includes a first heater, a second heater, and a control unit which controls an output to the first heater and an output to the second heater. The control unit executes a temperature-difference adjustment control, in which the output of the second heater is controlled such that the temperature of the bulging portion heated by the second heater with respect to the temperature of the seating surface portion heated by the first heater is made lower when an ambient temperature is a first temperature than when the ambient temperature is a second temperature which is higher than the first temperature.
Seatbelt and child seat anchor based occupancy detection system
The present invention is directed to apparatus for detecting a child left unattended in a car seat as well as the status of the connection between the car seat and the vehicle. The apparatus includes a sensor module and a processor. The sensor module including a sensor for measuring force data associated with the coupling between car seat and a vehicle. The processor receives and analyzes the sensor data to determine the status of the child/child seat, and then communicates status data to a caretaker. Counter-measure instructions can also be provided to the vehicle for altering the vehicle state/environment.
Vital information measurement device and vehicle seat
A vital information measurement device and a vehicle seat which improves the durability of sheet-shaped sensors configured to detect vital information of a seated passenger can stably measure the heart rate of the seated passenger. A vehicle seat includes sheet-shaped sensors attached to a seat back, and can measure the heart rate of a seated passenger based on vital signals of the seated passenger detected by the sheet-shaped sensors. At each sheet-shaped sensor, a sensor overlap reduction section is provided to reduce partial overlapping of the sheet-shaped sensor when the seated passenger leans on the seat back. Specifically, each sheet-shaped sensor includes a first cutout extending toward the center of the sheet-shaped sensor at an outer peripheral portion of the sheet-shaped sensor, and a second cutout formed continuously from the first cutout and extending opposite to the center along the outer peripheral portion of the sheet-shaped sensor.
Smart buckle
A key ring transceiver module activates when a child has been left inside of a car seat when the corresponding buckle transceiver is out of range. The buckle transceiver system includes a weight sensor indicating that a child is inside of the baby seat, a pair of limit or indication switches indicating that a child is retrained within the baby seat, and a pair of PING/PONG sending and receiving radio pairs that communicate range of the baby buckle transceiver from the key ring transceiver. When the baby seat contains a child restrained within, and the transceiver moves out of range, a distress alarm/signal will be enabled on the transceiver to indicate that the baby is still confined to the restraints of the baby seat. The key ring transceiver will continue to signal a distress mechanism until the baby buckle transceiver trigger has been reset by removing the child from the car seat. Although several variations of the embodiment have been presented with similar computational schemes, this present embodiment contains the minimal number of necessary component for effective alerting, and fulfills several requirements of exception to previous system designs. Lastly most systems to date have incorporated elements of the vehicle, which can require OEM installation or absorbent aftermarket fabrication to the vehicle.
