Vehicle Seat and Passenger Selection System
A vehicle seat comprises a frame member provided on a floor of a vehicle, a seat part such as a seat cushion detachably attached to the frame member, a mechanical connector device provided on the frame member and the seat part for detachably attaching the seat part to the frame member; and an electric connector device provided on the frame member and the seat part for electrically connecting an electric component provided on the seat part to an electric component provided on the frame member.
Seat heater control device using electrostatic sensor
The seat heater control device is provided for a vehicle including a vehicle body, a vehicle seat and a seat heater. The seat heater control device includes: an electrostatic sensor provided in the vehicle seat and configured to measure capacitance between the electrostatic sensor and the vehicle body; and a controller configured to control an operation and/or an operational temperature of the seat heater, based on a measured value of the electrostatic sensor. The controller is configured to cause the seat heater to operate at a relative higher temperature when the measured value of the electrostatic sensor is higher than a first threshold and lower than a second threshold. The controller is configured to cause the seat heater to operate at a relative lower temperature when the measured value of the electrostatic sensor is higher than the second threshold.
Navigation system with notification mechanism and method of operation thereof
A method of operation of a navigation system includes: determining an occupancy status with a capturing sensor based on detecting a passenger presence in real time; determining a lane availability of a lane type based on a current location; generating an access notification based on the occupancy status, the lane availability for traversing on the lane type; and updating the access notification with a control unit dynamically and in real time based on a change in the occupancy status, the lane availability, or a combination thereof for presenting on a device.
Adjustment of vehicle mechanism based on sensor input
In one aspect a vehicle may include a motor, a drive train and chassis, a battery, a seat assembly including a seat in which people can sit, at least one processor, a camera accessible to the at least one processor, and storage accessible to the at least one processor. The storage may include instructions executable by the at least one processor to receive data pertaining to at least one characteristic of a person and to, based on the data, adjust at least one mechanism within the vehicle.
Variable resistance conductive rubber sensor and method of detecting an object/human touch therewith
A variable resistance conductive rubber sensor and method of detecting an object/human touch therewith is provided. The sensor has a sensor body constructed from electrically conductive rubber. The sensor body extends between opposite first and second ends. A first wire is operably connected to the first end and a second wire may be operably connected to the second end, with the first and second wires being brought into electrical communication with one another by the intermediately extending electrically conductive rubber of the sensor body. A microcontroller is operably connected to the sensor body to detect the presence of an applied force or human touch on the sensor body.
Occupant detection device using electrostatic sensor
The object is to provide an occupant detection device that can accurately detect whether there is a passenger, even when a personal computer, a tablet terminal, a smartphone or the like is placed on a vehicle seat. The occupant detection device is provided for a vehicle including a vehicle body, a vehicle seat and an in-vehicle battery. The occupant detection device includes: an electrostatic sensor provided in the seat and configured to measure capacitance between the sensor and the vehicle body; an interrupting unit configured to interrupt a function of the in-vehicle battery; a controller configured to temporarily activate the interrupting unit when a measured value of the electrostatic sensor is higher than a predetermined threshold; and a judgement unit configured to judge that there is a passenger when the measured value of the electrostatic sensor is higher than the predetermined threshold even while the interrupting unit is activated.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat is adapted to be moved relative to a floor of a vehicle. The seat includes a seat bottom that can be moved relative to the floor and a seat back that can be moved relative to the seat bottom.
Identifying and localizing a vehicle occupant by correlating hand gesture and seatbelt motion
A method, system, and vehicle for locating an occupant within the vehicle. The method includes receiving motion data of a seatbelt for a seat in the vehicle and receiving motion data of a wearable device of the occupant. The method also includes comparing the seatbelt motion data with the wearable device motion data from a same period of time and identifying that the occupant is located at the seat in the vehicle based on a result of the comparison. The method may also include associating the occupant with the vehicle based on location information of the vehicle and location information of the wearable device of the occupant. Additionally, the method may include identifying personalization options for the occupant at the seat based on a user profile of the occupant in response to identifying that the occupant is located at the seat.
ELIMINATING OR MINIMIZING INTERFERENCE BETWEEN HANDS ON DETECTION SENSOR AND HEATER IN STEERING WHEELS
A heater/sensor assembly comprises a sensor assembly and a heater assembly. The sensor assembly comprises a first sheet of an electrically non-conducting material, a first wire attached to a first side of the first sheet, and a second wire arranged parallel to the first wire and attached to a second side of the first sheet that is opposite the first side. The heater assembly comprises a second sheet of the electrically non-conducting material arranged parallel to the first sheet; a third wire attached to a first side of the second sheet facing the second side of the first sheet; and a fourth wire arranged parallel to the third wire and attached to a second side of the second sheet that is opposite the first side of the second sheet. The third and fourth wires are arranged at an angle relative to the first and second wires.
AIR CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM BASED ON VEHICLE SEAT STATUS
An air control system is disclosed. The system may comprise a processing unit. The processing unit may be configured to receive a seat status, and adjust an air control device based on the received seat status.
