VEHICLE SEAT
A car seat includes an actuator capable of changing an orientation of a rest surface of a seat back laterally by turning and moving at least a side portion frame that is part of the car seat frontward and rearward, and a controller configured to exercise control over the actuator. The controller includes a run-time posture support unit configured to execute a run-time posture support control under which when a car makes a turn, the actuator is regulated to cause the rest surface of the seat back to be oriented in a direction of the turn. The run-time posture support unit is configured to regulate the actuator in accordance with a placement of the seat in the car, when the run-time posture support unit executes the run-time posture support control.
CONVEYANCE SEAT
Rigidity is improved at a part where side frame pieces overlap each other in a side frame. In a vehicle seat provided with a seat back frame, a side frame of the seat back frame has a first side frame piece and a second side frame piece partially overlapping each other in a direction of extension of the side frame. The side frame has an overlapping part where both the first side frame piece and the second side frame piece overlap each other. At the overlapping part, the side frame pieces overlap each other in a state where a plurality of closed regions and closed by being surrounded by both side frame pieces are formed in a cross section of the overlapping part intersecting with the direction of extension of the side frame.
DISPLACEABLE PANEL FOR SEATING ASSEMBLY
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seat and a seatback. The seatback includes a frame that has opposing first and second frame members and first and second displaceable panels that are pivotably coupled to the first and second frame members. The first and second displaceable panels are movable between stored positions and deployed positions in response to a force exerted on the seatback.
Energy absorbing vehicle seat
The present disclosure relates to a vehicle seat that includes a seat cushion which is substantially horizontal with respect to a floor of a vehicle. The vehicle seat further includes a seat back including a proximal end and a distal end separated by a longitudinal length, such that the proximal end is pivotably coupled to the seat back. The vehicle seat also includes a track arranged adjacent to the seat cushion and the track has a longitudinal length. The track includes a proximal end and a distal end, such that the proximal end of the track is attached to a biasing element while the distal end of the track is attached to a portion of the seat back. In a crash event, the seat back is displaceable with respect to the seat cushion along the longitudinal length of the track.
RECLINABLE SEAT WITH MULTIPLE CONFIGURATIONS
A reclinable passenger seat includes a seat pan linear actuator having a rear end pivotally connected to the rear end of the seat pan frame, and a front end pivotally connected to the base by a third fixed pivot. A backrest linear actuator has an upper end pivotally connected to the upper backrest member, and a lower end pivotally connected to the base. A length of the backrest linear actuator is defined between the upper and lower ends. The backrest frame and seat pan frame are configured to move simultaneously between at least a reclined configuration and a berth configuration through pivoting motion about the first and second fixed pivots and about the first and second locations. The length of the backrest linear actuator is substantially the same in the reclined configuration and in the berth configuration.
CAR SICKNESS INHIBITION DEVICE, METHOD, STORAGE MEDIUM, AND VEHICLE SEAT
A car sickness inhibition device includes: a memory and a processor connected to the memory, the processor being configured to: acquire an acceleration a in a front-rear direction of a vehicle or angles of inclination θ of the head and upper body of an occupant sitting in a seat of the vehicle; and by using expression θ>tan.sup.−1(a/g).Math.(1), where g denotes gravitational acceleration, obtain from the acquired acceleration a an angle of inclination θ0 with which car sickness is inhibited, or obtain an acceleration a0 with which car sickness is inhibited.
VEHICLE SEAT WITH CENTER SERVICE DOOR
A vehicle seat includes a seat base and a seat back which together define a first outboard seating section, a second outboard seating section, and a center seating section. A center seat back of the center seating section is defined by a service door and a removable panel provided beneath the service door in a height direction of the vehicle seat. The service door is connected to one of the seat base and the seat back at a first hinged connection. The center seat back is configured to have a fold down, service position where the service door pivoted at the first hinged connection is located above the seat base to provide access to an area rearward the seat back in a front-rear direction of the vehicle seat. The service door is prevented from moving to the fold down, service position with the panel located beneath the service door.
Reclinable passenger seat
A reclinable passenger seat including a base, a seat pan frame having a front end connected to the base via a first fixed pivot, a support arm having one end connected to the base via a second fixed pivot aft of the first fixed pivot, and a backrest frame having an upper backrest member and a lower backrest member. An opposed end of the support arm is pivotally connected to the lower backrest member at a first location spaced from the upper backrest member. A rear end of the seat pan frame is pivotally connected to the lower backrest member at a second location between the first location and the upper backrest member. The backrest frame and seat pan frame are configured to move simultaneously between a sitting configuration and a reclined configuration through pivoting motion about the fixed pivots and about the two locations.
INTEGRATED DECKING ARM SUPPORT FEATURE
A seating assembly includes a seatback having a frame and a cushion assembly. A cushion carrier includes a lower member defining a frame receiving cavity. A first set of ribs extend across the frame receiving cavity in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal extent of the lower member. The first set of ribs extend between the lower member and a lower brace of the frame. A second set of ribs are parallel with the first set of ribs. The second set of ribs are longer than the first set of ribs.
SEATBACK COMFORT CARRIER
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback. A back panel includes a front closeout panel. A carrier supports the seatback and includes an upper thoracic region having a peripheral support. A peripheral gap is defined between the front closeout panel and the upper thoracic region. A bottom portion of the upper thoracic region includes a lower wall having a sinusoidal configuration. A lower lumber region includes a peripheral support. A peripheral gap is defined between the front closeout panel and the lower lumber region. An upper portion of the lower lumbar region includes an upper wall having a sinusoidal configuration. A plurality of concave connectors couple the lower wall of the upper thoracic region with the upper wall of the lower lumber region.
