Seating assembly pivot bracket

A lifter mechanism for an edge of a seat cushion includes a bracket detachable from and rotatable about a transverse bar. The bracket includes a forward lever and a rearward portion. The forward lever is coupled to a seat suspension. The rearward portion is coupled to a linkage. The linkage is coupled to a seatback. The forward lever raises an edge of the seat suspension upon the seatback pivoting to a predetermined reclined position.

A seat adjuster, includes a brake acting between fixed and adjustable parts so the adjustable part is blockable in positions on the fixed part and releasable by a release element, an adjustment element acting on the release element, selectively adjusting the adjustable part in two opposite directions, and a locking element automatically engaging and interlockingly locking the adjustable part to the fixed part when the adjustment element is not actuated and automatically disengaging when the adjustment element is actuated, disengagement of the locking element and adjustment of the adjustable part being effected by moving the adjustment element out of neutral position, the locking element having a toothed segment for meshing with a toothed ring coupled to the adjustable part so the locking element is movable in the radial direction of the toothed ring between locking and release positions, in which the locking element meshes with or moves away from the toothed ring.

Retractable pivot pin assembly to connect seatback to riser

A vehicle comprises: a floor pan; a riser attached to the floor pan, the riser comprising a pin-guide surface at least partially surrounding a pin-receiving aperture, the pin-guide surface having an angled portion; and a seatback comprising a retractable pivot pin assembly, which includes a pin; inserted into the pin-receiving aperture of the riser; wherein, the pin is inserted into the pin-receiving aperture; and wherein, during the insertion of the pin into the pin-receiving aperture, the pin first contacts the angled portion of the pin-guide surface while the pin is in an extended state. During the insertion of the pin into the pin-receiving aperture, as the pin moves toward the pin-receiving aperture, the angled portion of the pin-guide surface forces the pin toward a retracted state within the retractable pivot pin assembly.

The forward lever is coupled to a seat suspension. The rearward portion is coupled to a linkage. The linkage is coupled to a seatback. The forward lever raises an edge of the seat suspension upon the seatback pivoting to a predetermined reclined position.

Anthropomorphic pivotable upper seatback support

A vehicle seating assembly includes a lower seat and a seatback structure extending upwardly relative the lower seat, the lower seat and the seatback structure defining a seat H-point, and the seatback structure having an upper seatback support, a lower seatback support, and a split between the upper seatback support and the lower seatback support. The split is disposed between 270 and 300 mm, preferably about 285 mm, above the H-point along a line extending substantially parallel to the seatback structure. The upper seatback support pivots about a pivot between a rearward position and a forward position relative the lower seatback support. A motorized actuation assembly is disposed within the seatback structure and operably coupled to the upper seatback support, wherein the motorized actuation assembly pivots the upper seatback support about the pivot between the rearward position and the forward position.

Back Breakover Rate Control Device for HIC/NIJ Damage Reduction

A device for controlling the breakover rate of a seatback in response to a dynamic event (regulating the breakover velocity so as to achieve optimal velocity differential to the impact velocity of a passenger's head impacting with the seatback) is attachable to the seatback and to the seat frame; when a breakover event is triggered, the passage of a head injury criterion (HIC) pin through a controlled traveling slot is impeded by energy absorbing materials selected, e.g. for material composition and structure, to restrict the breakover velocity of the seatback to optimize velocity differential between the breakover velocity and the impact velocity by engaging the HIC pin and deforming at a predetermined deformation rate.

A device for tilting the backrest of a vehicle seat and a method for mounting the device. The device includes a backrest hinge and a handle element fixed to the backrest hinge. The handle element is formed of a metallic material.

FOLD AND TUMBLE MECHANISM FOR A VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat includes a seat bottom, a seat back and a floor latch associated with the seat bottom. The seat further includes a recliner arrangement including a recliner bracket connected to the seat bottom, a back side bracket connected to the seat back, and a recliner connected to the recliner bracket and the back side bracket and configured to allow the seat back to pivot with respect to the seat bottom. In addition, the seat includes a fold and tumble mechanism having an actuating member pivotally connected directly to the back side bracket, and a rocker member pivotally connected to the recliner bracket and connected to a latch cable associated with the floor latch. The actuating member is engageable with the rocker member when the seat back is pivoted forwardly to cause the rocker member to pivot and pull on the latch cable, which releases the floor latch so that the seat bottom may pivot upwardly.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat including: a seat adjuster serving as an angle adjustment mechanism of a seat component; a seat frame integrally coupled to the seat adjuster and having a through-hole through which an outer surface portion of the seat adjuster is exposed; and a holding member which holds the seat adjuster in a state of being coupled to the seat frame by being coupled with the outer surface portion of the seat adjuster exposed through the through-hole and protruding outward than the through-hole in a hole diameter direction of the through-hole such that the seat frame is sandwiched between the seat adjuster and the holding member.
