Backrest release system
A backrest release system is provided for a seat having a seat bottom, a pivotable backrest, and a releasable latch for locking the backrest relative to the seat bottom. The system comprises a first portion that is mountable to a support structure of the backrest. The first portion includes a carrier and a retainer that is attachable to the carrier so that the retainer is pivotable relative to the carrier. Furthermore, the retainer is connectable to the latch. The system also includes a second portion including a cover mountable on a back panel of the backrest, and a handle configured to be pivotally attached to the cover. The second portion is configured to be attached to the back panel prior to positioning the back panel on the backrest support structure, and the second portion is alignable with the first portion so that the handle may be attached to the retainer.
SEATING ARRANGEMENT HAVING A RECLINABLE SEAT BACK
A seating arrangement having a striker, a seat back, and a latch mechanism. The seat back may be pivotable about an axis of rotation. The latch mechanism may be disposed on the seat back. The latch mechanism may allow the seat back to be secured to the striker in multiple angular positions.
Headrest assembly for a vehicle
A multi-headrest assembly for a vehicle includes first and second headrests for first and second seats of the vehicle, respectively, and a multi-headrest mount having a crossbar and first and second brackets coupled to and spaced along the crossbar for supporting the first and second headrests, respectively. The crossbar has a length for defining a space between the first and second headrests for aligning the first and second headrests with the first and second seats, respectively, when mounted in the vehicle. The multi-headrest assembly further includes first and second seatback portions configured to be coupled to and supported by the first and second brackets, respectively.
Vehicle seatback support element to resist pivoting movement of seatback when force is applied to the seatback
A vehicle comprises a seating assembly including a seatback pivotally movable relative to a seat about an axis, the seatback including a bottom portion and a top portion disposed further away from the axis than the bottom portion; and a seatback support element having a first portion coupled to the vehicle at a position other than the seatback and a second portion where the seatback interacts with the seatback support element, the seatback support element resisting pivotal movement of the seatback about the axis. The seatback support element can further includ3 a third portion coupled to the vehicle at a position other than the seatback. The second portion is between the first portion and the third portion along a length of the seatback support element. The first portion is coupled to the vehicle forward of the axis of the seatback and the third portion is coupled rearward of the axis.
Vehicle Seat
An adequate mechanical stiffness and strength are afforded to a tumble seat or a vehicle seat having a latch mechanism provided in a rear end of the seat cushion. A cushion frame (F1) of the seat includes a side frame (5) extending in a fore and aft direction, and the side frame includes a first member (10) comprising a channel member having an open side facing sideways and a second member (11) attached to the first member so as to form a closed cross section jointly with the first member, and extending downward further than the first member. A latch mechanism is positioned under the first member and attached to the second member.
OPERATION DEVICE
An operation device (1) includes first bases (81A, 81B) and/or second bases (72A, 72B) that are elastically deformable in the direction of a pivot axis (X1) so that a shaft (120) can be inserted into a shaft hole (110). A first protrusion (121) is formed on a distal end portion of the shaft and projects radially outward from an outer sliding surface (120E). The first bases (81A, 81B) include a first escape section (111) recessed radially outward from an inner sliding surface (110E). The first escape section allows the first protrusion to pass through the first base when the shaft is being inserted into the shaft hole with an operation member (80) located in an initial position. A first slip-off preventing section (113) circumferentially adjacent to the first escape section prevents the shaft from coming out of the shaft hole when the operation member is pivoted from the initial position to an end position.
Seating system for a vehicle
A seating system for a vehicle includes a seat cushion and a seat back pivotably attached to the seat cushion. A latch arrangement has a locked position for inhibiting pivoting of the seat back relative to the seat cushion and an open position for facilitating pivoting of the seat back relative to the seat cushion. A rotatable actuator defines a first radius and a second radius. A first flexible member is attached to the rotatable actuator at the first radius such that tensioning the first flexible member rotates the rotatable actuator in a first direction. A second flexible member is attached to the latch arrangement and the rotatable actuator at the second radius such that rotation of the rotatable actuator in the first direction tensions the second flexible member and moves the latch arrangement from the locked position to the open position.
Seat arrangement for a vehicle
A seat arrangement for a vehicle includes first and second mounting brackets configured for attachment to a vehicle body. A seat back frame is attached to the first mounting bracket and is pivotable relative to the first mounting bracket around a first pivot axis. A seat cushion frame is pivotably attached to the second mounting bracket, and attached to the seat back frame such that the seat cushion frame and the seat back frame are pivotable relative to each other around a second pivot axis positioned above the first pivot axis when the seat back frame is in a use position.
LATCH DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
A latch device for a vehicle includes an engageable member having an engageable notch engageable with a striker, a shaft member by which the engageable member is rotatably supported, a first body including a first support portion by which one end of the shaft member is supported, and a second body including a coupling portion coupled to the first body, and a second support portion by which another end of the shaft member is supported. The engageable member is rotatable about the shaft member between a first position in which engagement with the striker is achievable and a second position in which disengagement from the striker is permitted. With the first body, an entrance of the engageable notch through which the striker comes in the engageable notch in a state where the engageable member is in the first position is covered from one side in an axial direction of the shaft member. With the second body, the engageable notch in the state where the engageable member is in the first position is not covered, but left uncovered in entirety, from another side in the axial direction of the shaft member.
VEHICLE SEATBACK LATCH WITH REMOTE HANDLE HAVING INTEGRATED FLAG
A vehicle seatback includes: a first panel; a second panel coupled to the first panel so that a welding stitching pattern is exposed, each welding stitch of the welding stitching pattern accessible from a common direction; and a bracket, wherein at least one welding stitch included in the welding stitch pattern connects the bracket to one of the first or second panels. A vehicle latch system includes: a housing at a first edge of a movable vehicle seatback with a handle to assume an extended position outside the housing in which a flag on the handle is presented, and a retracted position inside the housing in which the flag is not presented; a latch configured for placement at a second edge of the movable vehicle seatback, the second edge opposite the first edge; and a cable connecting the handle and the latch to each other.
