20170313427 · 2017-11-02 · ·

In order to improve ease of maintenance of an aircraft passenger seat, the aircraft passenger seat 100 is adapted to be changeable between an upright position and a bed mode position at which the backrest is folded forward. A mechanism for locking the seat at each of the positions is provided with lock pins 350 provided on both sides of the backrest, a handle unit 200 mounted to a rear face of the backrest, and two wires 300 for connecting the handle unit 200 and the lock pins 350. A structure for connecting the wires 300 to the handle unit 200 is improved to facilitate the maintenance of the wires and to make the handle unit lightweight.

INDEPENDENT TRANSLATING ROLLER SEAT

A passenger seat may be configured to adjust between an upright seating position and a lie-flat sleeping position (which may include one or more intermediate reclined seating positions) via independent rollers attached to the seat pan, or seat bottom, and to the backrest. As the passenger seat transitions between the upright seating position and the lie-flat sleeping position, guide channels set into the left and right frame rails direct the movement of the independent rollers through the guide channels and thereby control the angles of the seat pan and the backrest throughout the transition.

Method of determining a seating arrangement
09783302 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A method of determining a seating arrangement for an aircraft cabin includes entering configuration parameters into a processor including a cabin width, a quantity of aisles, a minimum aisle width, and a quantity of columns of seats, wherein each seat is movable between a seated configuration and a bed configuration. The method additionally includes entering seat parameters describing the taper in seat width from a main portion to a footrest, and entering configuration rules wherein in at least one column of an inboard column set and/or an outboard column set, the seats are reversed in direction and/or are staggered. The method further includes determining, using the processor, a seating arrangement including a column quantity in each column set, and a seat direction and/or a stagger for each column in the seating arrangement that results in a maximum seat width at a main portion of the seats.

A seating arrangement provides a relatively flat surface in the seating area of passenger vehicles to rest. The present invention allows the passenger to remain in the seat and be able to rest on a fully inclined seat providing a flat horizontal surface. In one embodiment, the back seat cushion(s) can be removable and thus the front seat backs rest upon the same platform support as the back seat cushions. In a second embodiment, the rear seat cushions have removable rear seat cushion sections to allow the front backs to fully recline into a horizontal position in the open voids formed after the headrest is removed. In a third embodiment applicable to the first two embodiments, the rear seat backs can be removed to extend the resting area into the trunk. In a fourth embodiment second row seats are fully reclinable onto the third row seats.
