VEHICLE SEAT
20200171986 · 2020-06-04 ·

A vehicle seat comprising a seat member and a backrest, wherein a belt connection is attached to or integrated into the upper end of the backrest, a mechanical coupling device is provided for coupling the backrest to the assembly for adjustment of the inclination of the seat member in the event of a collision. A triggering threshold is defined wherein the backrest is decoupled from the assembly under normal operating conditions, and wherein in a collision, when the triggering threshold is exceeded, the backrest pivots forwards and is finally coupled via the mechanical coupling device to the assembly, so that further pivoting of the backrest forwards triggers the assembly and causes the front region of the seat member facing away from the backrest to pivot upwards about a transverse axis.

An inertial latch for a motor vehicle armrest is rotatably connected to a a bracket mounted to a support structure; an armrest interfacing component is disposed in an arcuate slot in the bracket, the slot extending from a first to a second end; a primary pawl rotatable from a first to a second position and limiting motion of the interfacing component in the slot; a secondary pawl rotatable from a third position to a fourth position and limiting motion of the primary pawl; a stop limits motion of the secondary pawl. The armrest articulates from a closed to an open position, the interfacing component moves through the entire slot when the primary pawl is in the first position, the interfacing component is held within a portion less than the entire slot when the primary pawl is in the second position, and the interfacing component is releasable from the portion.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide, in a vehicle seat having a walk-in mechanism, a locking mechanism for a seat back with which rotation of a lock plate can be suppressed against impact in any direction, and with which the locked state can be more reliably retained. In order to achieve the foregoing, provided is a vehicle seat having a walk-in mechanism, wherein: a reclining unit having the walk-in mechanism comprises a swing plate and latch for locking a seat back at a seated posture position; the latch has a structure that rotates about a latch rotating shaft, locks rotation of the seat back by meshed engagement with the swing plate, and releases the lock when the meshed engagement with the swing plate comes out; and the latch is given a structure with which a counter plate is added to the opposite side from the position of meshed engagement with the swing plate, relative to the latch rotating shaft, and the center-of-gravity position of the latch is brought close to the center of rotation of the latch.
