Seat support mechanism, seat structure and suspension seat

A seat support mechanism including a lifter, and configured to perform a cushion frame suspension function no matter to what height a cushion frame is adjusted. Torsion bars extending in the width direction of a cushion frame and elastically supporting the cushion frame are supported by a link mechanism disposed between sliders and the cushion frame. Even if the attitude of the link mechanism is displaced when the lifter adjusts the height, the positions of the torsion bars are displaced so as to follow the displacement. The torsion bars elastically support the cushion frame no matter to what height the torsion bars are displaced. Thus, no matter to what height the cushion frame is adjusted, the torsion bars are able to support the cushion frame with predetermined elasticity and to exhibit predetermined vibration absorption characteristics.

Seat suspension mechanism

A body weight adjustment mechanism for automatic adjustment to a balanced point is provided to improve vibration absorption characteristics and impact absorption characteristics. A torsion angle of a lower frame-side torsion bar when an upper frame is at a balanced point is found in advance, a torsion angle of the lower frame-side torsion bar in a state in which a person is seated is detected, the detected torsion angle is compared with the aforesaid balanced point torsion angle, a control signal is sent to an elastic force adjusting unit, and torsion angles of upper frame-side torsion bars are adjusted so that the torsion angle of the lower frame-side torsion bar becomes equal to the balanced point torsion angle. The upper frame can be set to an appropriate position in an initial state and a static state in which a person is seated and vibration and impact absorption characteristics are improved.

Adjustable damping system for a vehicle seat

The invention relates to an adjustable damping system for a vehicle seat for damping a movement of the seat part-side upper part relative to the body-side lower part in at least one spatial direction, wherein, for damping, at least one damping element is provided, which is adjustable by an adjustment device and is arranged between the seat part-side upper part and the body-side lower part. The damping system is further distinguished in that a first damping force of the damping element is settable by the adjustment device, wherein this first damping force can be determined by the adjustment device, with the aid of a total damping travel of the damping element, a basic damping force presettable by a damping setting device, a position of the seat part-side upper part, measurable by a sensor device, relative to the body-side lower part and a movement direction of the seat part-side upper part relative to the body-side lower part, wherein the movement direction can be determined from at least two temporally consecutive positions of the seat part-side upper part, measurable by the sensor device, relative to the body-side lower part.

Seat track support damper

A vehicle seat is disposed on a floor portion of a passenger compartment, and includes first and second upper seat tracks, and a seat bottom disposed thereon. First and second lower seat tracks are each disposed longitudinally in the vehicle and secured to the floor portion at respective fore and aft attachment locations, wherein each of the first and second upper seat tracks is slidably disposed in a respective one of the first and second lower seat tracks. A support damper is disposed between the floor portion and one of the first and second lower seat tracks and disposed between the respective fore and aft attachment locations. The support damper is disposed at a longitudinal position between the respective fore and aft attachment locations at a maximum vertical deflection point of the respective one of the first and second lower seat tracks relative to the floor portion.

SUSPENSION PEDESTAL

A suspension pedestal may be employed with a vehicle seat (e.g. a boat seat). The suspension pedestal comprises a piston partially received within a base, and an isolator to mitigate relative movement between the base and piston. A flange extends circumferentially around the base, and is releasably fixable to the base at any point between the ends of the base.

Seat assemblies having fixed frames and movable seat cushions and movable seat backs with vertical dampers and clamps coupling the vertical dampers to the fixed frames

A kinetic seat assembly including a primary seat cushion frame including a rear rod extending between opposite rails, a secondary seat back frame movable relative to the primary seat cushion frame, a pair of clamps provided on the rear rod of the primary seat cushion frame, and a pair of vertical dampers coupled between the secondary seat back frame and the pair of clamps on the primary seat cushion frame, each clamp receiving an end of a corresponding vertical damper. In embodiments, the vertical dampers are arranged in a V-shape such that the vertical dampers are oriented at an angle relative to one another such that a distance between a first end of each vertical damper is greater than a distance between a second end of each vertical damper.

A seat suspension includes a seat support, a base, and a suspension assembly positioned between the seat support and the base. The suspension assembly includes a compressible cushion for containing a gas; and a chamber. The chamber includes a cylindrical hollow member, a front cap at one end of the cylindrical hollow member, an end cap at another end of the cylindrical hollow member, and a piston positioned within the cylindrical hollow member between the front cap and the end cap. The front cap includes an orifice. The orifice provides fluid communication between the cushion and the chamber. When a compressive force causes movement of the seat support portion towards the base, thereby compressing the cushion, the gas from the cushion flows through the orifice into the chamber and directly forces movement of the piston away from the front cap.

Seat suspension mechanism

There are improved a vibration absorption characteristic and an impact absorption characteristic. A seat suspension mechanism set so that links of a first link mechanism on a base frame side and links of a second link mechanism on a seat support frame side, between which an intermediate frame is put, differ in operating angles, that is, so that the links of the second link mechanism operate in the range of an angle closer to a vertical to a front-rear direction of a vehicle body. This allows front-rear movement of the seat support frame through the second link mechanism to mainly respond to input vibrations of front-rear movement to thereby improve a vibration absorption characteristic and an impact absorption characteristic in the front-rear direction.
