The illumination portion has a pocket formed of translucent material and has first and second lateral flaps disposed on opposite sides of a central tunnel. A first seam secures the illumination portion to the first trim panel and to the first lateral flap. A second seam secures the illumination portion to the second trim panel and to the second lateral flap. A light conducting strip is inserted in the central tunnel of the pocket. A light source is in communication with the light conducting strip. Light from the light source is visible through the translucent material of the central tunnel.

Provided is a conveyance seat including a lateral support portion that provides good appearance. A lateral support portion of a seat back includes a base member that defines an outline of the lateral support portion and a surface cover arranged to cover the base member to form an outer surface of the lateral support portion. The surface cover includes multiple surface cover pieces interfaced with each other to form the surface cover and a strip-shaped body that extends out of the interface between the surface cover pieces in a reverse side portion of the surface cover. In a state where the surface cover covers the base member, the strip-shaped body is pulled toward a side of the base member opposite to that on which the interface is positioned with respect to the base member.

A vehicle seat including: a seat pad capable of elastically supporting an occupant, the seat pad having a seating portion that allows the occupant to seat on a front surface thereof, and the seating portion is divided in a seat width direction into a first region, a second region, and a central region formed between the first and the second region, the first region and the second region being capable of being concave-deformed toward a back surface of the seat pad opposite to the front surface when pressed by the occupant in a seating state, and in a free state where the seating portion is not pressed, a central region part in the central region arranged between the first and the second region that are to be concave-deformed has a shape concaved toward the back surface of the seat pad as compared to the first and the second region.

The vehicle seat is configured to improve child seat mountability, and to prevent deterioration in appearance design when the child seat is demounted. The vehicle seat includes an anchor storage recess formed in a pad that constitutes the seat for storing an anchor to be engaged with an engagement member attached to a child seat. A seat of the present invention can prevent wrinkles of a cover at a curved part of an inward-suspending portion and improve attaching workability of inward-suspending member while keeping manufacturing cost low. An inward-suspending portion of a cover has a linear part and a curved part continuous with each other. An inward-suspending member has a rigid part attached to one edge of a main body. The main body of the inward-suspending member is superposed on the inward-suspending portion of the cover in a state where the rigid part of the inward-suspending member is spaced by a predetermined distance outwards from the end edge extending in the longitudinal direction of the inward-suspending portion and a part of the second edge on the upper side of the main body is overlapped to the cover. At a sewing portion, the main body is sewn continuously to the inward-suspending portion, from a linear part to a curved part.

A seat cover, comprising: a cover main body that is formed by stitching together a plurality of covering pieces at a plurality of seam allowances, and that covers a padding material of a vehicle seat, with a portion of the plurality of seam allowances disposed at a back face side of the cover main body facing the padding material being turned over to lie along a surface of the padding material; and a low friction cloth that is attached to the back face side of the cover main body in a state straddling across the portion of the plurality of seam allowances, and that is interposed between the cover main body and the padding material, with a surface of the low friction cloth that contacts the portion of the plurality of seam allowances having a lower coefficient of friction than a coefficient of friction of the surface of the padding material.

A vehicle seat includes: a trim cover including: a plurality of surface materials joined each other; a core material; a welt surface material wrapping the core material; a welt provided along a seam of two pieces of joined surface materials; and an empty core part provided with the welt, the empty core part reaching one end of the welt; and a seat element overlapped on the empty core part.

A vehicle seat that ensures improving appearance. A vehicle seat includes a first cover member to which a terminal of a first skin is stitched and a second cover member to which a terminal of a second skin is stitched. The first cover member and the second cover member are joined together. This ensures reducing a displacement of the first skin and the second skin relative to the first cover member and the second cover member. This ensures reducing the first skin and the second skin being turned up at an outer edge of a flange portion of the first cover member and an end portion of the second cover member on the second skin side. This ensures improving appearance of the vehicle seat.

This seat for vehicles is provided with: a seat cushion frame that forms the skeleton of the seat part of the seat; a cushion material disposed on the seat cushion frame; and a trim cover that covers the cushion material. The seat cushion frame has a cushion side frame that supports the lateral lower section of the seat part of the seat, and a trim wire that is fixed to the cushion side frame. The ends of the trim cover have a pocket part sewn in a pocket shape, and are configured such that the trim cover is fixed by inserting the trim wire into the pocket part.

A surface skin-fastening structure for a vehicle seat for fastening a surface skin to a framework of a vehicle seat, includes a base member which is integral with the framework, a surface skin-pressing member fitted into the base member, an interlocking member provided to an end of the surface skin, and slits provided to the base member. The base member has an extension section, which is an end edge that makes contact with a reverse surface of the surface skin. The slits extend in linear fashion along the end edge of the base member. With the surface skin covering the end edge of the base member, the interlocking member and the end of the surface skin are inserted into one opening of the slits and pass through the slits to appear from the other opening, and are stopped in a state of surface contact at the base member.
