A storage compartment of a console assembly for a vehicle includes a housing and a sliding tray. The housing includes a storage area defined by a floor, a pair of sidewalls and a pair of end walls. The housing includes an opening permitting access to the storage area. Each of the pair of sidewalls includes a track. The sliding tray includes an upper storage surface, a bottom wall, and a pair of sidewalls that extend upwardly from side edges of the bottom wall beyond at least a portion of the upper storage surface. Each of the pair of sidewalls includes an outwardly extending rail that engages with the track on each of the pair of sidewalls of the housing to permit the sliding tray to slide with respect to the housing.

An armrest assembly includes an armrest and a lid mounted on the armrest for relative rotational movement between a closed and open positions. The lid includes a handle cradle with handle guides on opposed sides and an intermediate inner guide. A handle is located in the handle cradle for relative movement between a latch position and a release position. The handle includes a latch. The latch retains the lid in the closed position when the handle is in the latch position. The handle includes a clip that engages a slot on the lid to retain the handle in the handle cradle. The handle also includes guide channels on opposed sides. The guide channels engage the handle guides. The handle includes an intermediate inner guide space. The inner guide space engages the inner guide. The armrest assembly also includes a spring that biases the handle into the latch position.

Disclosed is a system and method for controlling a moving console. When a seat of a vehicle is moved forwards or rearwards, a console is automatically moved to a usable position adjacent to the seat, whereby it is possible for a passenger on the seat to conveniently use the console. In addition, when the seat is swiveled, the console is automatically moved to a position at which interference between the console and the seat is avoidable, whereby the seat is swiveled smoothly.

DOUBLE OPENING CONSOLE BOX

An opening/closing mechanism of a double opening console box includes right and left operation portions for opening a lid around a left or right rotation shaft, and an erroneous operation preventing device for preventing simultaneous right and left opening actions of the lid. The erroneous operation preventing device includes a center projecting portion provided to the lid, an erroneous operation prevention bar movable leftward/rightward relative to the lid, a centering component having a left-right-symmetric recess groove at a front end, and a spring member energizing the centering component in the front-rear direction relative to the erroneous operation prevention bar so that the center projecting portion is located at the rear end bottom of the recess groove. The erroneous operation prevention bar includes a centering accommodating portion storing the centering component such that frontward/rearward movement thereof relative to the erroneous operation prevention bar is allowed and leftward/rightward movement is prohibited.

A retractable table assembly (5) for an automobile has a housing (6) located between the rear seats (2,3). Two tabletops (17a, 17b) are stowed in the housing and deployed on rotatable arms (12a, 12b). The arms are resiliently biased to the deployment position and when stowed, the tabletops are kept in place by push-push latches. A secondary link (16) between the tabletops and the pivot-point of the arms is provided, which maintains the relative disposition of the tabletop in relation to the housing during deployment. The tabletops can be deployed side-by-side so as to provide an expanded surface for working on.

A console for a motor vehicle includes a console compartment formed in the console and having first, second, third, and fourth sides connected to a bottom side and partially enclosing a first volume, and a movable compartment lid disposed overtop the console compartment and articulating through a first range of motion. The console further includes a plurality of storage compartments in movable connection with each of the others of the plurality of storage compartments and in movable connection with the console compartment and the movable compartment lid, such that when the lid articulates through the first range of motion, the plurality of storage compartments move vertically and horizontally with respect to the console compartment and the movable compartment lid.

Twin Sleeper

A chair that converts into a bed. The chair includes a sleeper frame assembly with a back frame assembly coupled with a hinge to a rear frame assembly. A sliding coupling connects the back frame assembly to a moveable seat assembly with a seat frame assembly. The sliding coupling includes a slotted bracket which may include a flanged beam. When the moveable seat assembly is moved forward, the back frame assembly and rear frame assembly unfold into planar alignment with the seat frame assembly, whereby cushions on each frame assembly form a bed.

A vehicle interior component is disclosed. The vehicle interior component may comprise a base providing a compartment, two covers moveable between closed and open positions and a link to couple and decouple movement of the covers. One of the covers may remain open as the other is closed. The link may comprise two arms; one arm may move relative to the other to enable relative movement of the covers. One arm may comprise a depression and the other may comprise a protrusion to engage the depression to couple movement of the arms. The link may comprise a spring to hold the protrusion with the depression to couple movement of the arms; the spring may compress to enable disengagement of the protrusion and depression to enable relative movement of the covers. The component may comprise at least one of a console, a center console, a floor console.
