A vehicle armrest includes an opening/closing body, a switch knob and an operation transmission mechanism. The opening/closing body opens and closes an upper side of a storage section. The switch knob is configured to open the opening/closing body. The operation transmission mechanism opens the opening/closing body in response to an operation of the switch knob. The opening/closing body includes an inner base portion and an outer lid portion. The outer lid portion is movably connected to the base portion to move forward and rearward in a front-rear direction. The switch knob is disposed in a fixed position in a main box body farther forward than the front end of the opening/closing body when the lid portion has been moved to the forwardmost position.

Assembly for concealing a compartment within an armchair or furniture console

A concealable storage compartment assembly for use within a chair or console comprises a storage compartment assembly having a storage compartment mounted therein, a cover mounted upon the storage compartment assembly and movable between closed and open positions, a panel assembly movably mounted within a component of the chair, or within the console, so as to be movable between closed and open positions, and a linkage assembly operatively connecting the panel assembly to the cover such that when the panel assembly is moved between the closed and open positions, the cover is likewise moved between closed and open positions so as to cover and conceal the storage compartment or uncover and expose the storage compartment.

ARMREST DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

An armrest device for a vehicle includes a tray module configured to provide a cup holder function, an article storage function, and a table function; a frame module configured to enclose a periphery of the tray module and coupled to a rear seat of the vehicle; and a cover module configured to cover the tray module. The armrest device enables implementation of an arm rest function for allowing a passenger to put an arm on an armrest, as well as the cup holder function, the article storage function, and the table function utilizing a first slide cover having no vertically-extending hole, and a second slide cover formed with a cup holder hole.

ARMREST APPARATUSES INCLUDING TRANSLATING DOCKING STATION ARRANGEMENTS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES

Armrest apparatuses for motor vehicles are provided. In one example, an armrest apparatus comprises an armrest main base. A translating docking station arrangement for holding a nomadic device is operatively coupled to the armrest main base to move relative to the armrest main base between a retracted position and a deployed position. The translating docking station arrangement in the retracted position substantially covers the armrest main base. The translating docking station arrangement in the deployed position is shifted laterally relative to the retracted position.

VEHICLE

A vehicle includes a rear seat including a backrest portion and a console box adjoining the backrest portion on the vehicle front side. The console box includes a body portion disposed along the vehicle front-back direction, the body portion together with the backrest portion defining a gap; a projecting portion projecting from the body portion to immediately below the backrest portion; and a tray portion in the form of a receiver, the tray portion being disposed in the projecting portion and located below the gap. With these features, a vehicle is provided that allows easy collection of an article that has fallen into an area under a rear seat.

Integrated sliding armrest and hinge assembly subsystem for a console assembly

A hinged sliding armrest subsystem for a motor vehicle console assembly includes a console storage compartment lid, a console storage compartment upper element, and a pivoting hinge connecting the console lid and the console storage compartment upper element, all fabricated as a unit. A molded track for receiving a sliding armrest may be included in the console storage compartment lid. A torque hinge may be included as a hinge pin for the pivoting hinge. At least the console storage compartment lid and the pivoting hinge are fabricated of a suitably durable and lubricious material.

INERTIA LOCK FOR A CONSOLE ARMREST

An inertia locking mechanism for a bin having a bin lid and subjectable to an applied force resulting in an acceleration includes a housing attachable to the bin, a bracket attachable to the bin lid and having a locking feature, a locking pin, a biasing member, and a trigger. The locking pin is linearly moveable in the housing. The trigger has a triggering mass and is connected to the housing via a trigger pivot. The triggering mass is offset from the trigger pivot such that the triggering mass applies a torque to the trigger when the acceleration occurs in each of the front, rear, left, and right directions. The trigger is configured to release the locking pin when the acceleration exceeds a threshold acceleration such that the biasing member urges the locking pin into the locking feature of the bracket to lock the bin lid in a closed position.

APPARATUS FOR OPENING AND CLOSING SLIDING ARMREST CONSOLE

An apparatus for opening and closing an armrest is provided. After an armrest is slid to a position, the position of the armrest is selectively locked or unlocked using an armrest locking unit to thus prevent the weight of the armrest or vibrations of a vehicle from accidentally changing the position of the armrest against the intention of the user. The operation of unlocking the opening/closing plate from the console body and the operation of unlocking the sliding cover from the opening/closing plate are performed simultaneously with a single unlocking manipulation to allow a user to rapidly and conveniently perform the operations of opening/closing and sliding the armrest.

A vehicle equipment part having a base fixed to the bodywork and pivot part pivotable relative to the base about an axis, which pivot part can be locked in one pivot direction by a free-wheel device having a clamping member. The clamping member is arranged in a wedge-shaped clamping gap radially between a first counter-surface formed by a wedge structure fixed to the base and a circular cylindrical second counter-surface associated with the pivot part and is movable between a blocking position and a release position. The clamping member has a first contact surface, which faces the first counter-surface, and a second contact surface, which faces the second counter-surface. The second counter-surface is formed with a structure which is V-shaped in radial section and extends at least partly in the circumferential direction coaxially with the pivot axis and which is in the form of a recess or a projection, and the second contact surface is formed by a complementary structure.

LOCKING MECHANISM FOR CONSOLE DEVICE AND VEHICULAR CONSOLE DEVICE INCLUDING SAME

A locking mechanism for a console device, which restricts a console armrest of the console device disposed between a driver seat and a passenger seat inside a vehicle, includes a housing mounted on a front surface of a console box of the console device, a pivoting lever pivotably coupled to an inner surface of the housing, a slider pivotably coupled to an upper body of the pivoting lever, an inertial member interlocking portion coupled to a lower body of the pivoting lever, an inertial member seating portion which is mounted on the housing and on which an inertial member is seated, and the inertial member provided between the inertial member interlocking portion and the inertial member seating portion and configured to operate the inertial member interlocking portion when a collision of the vehicle occurs.
