Collision-responsive tray table for a vehicle seat
A vehicle includes a seatback having a rear-mounted and rotationally operable tray table selectively operable between a plurality of rotational positions. An actuator is coupled to the seatback and the tray table, wherein in response to a decelerating impact, the actuator applies a generally downward force that biases the tray table toward a safety position against a back surface of the seatback.
AMENITIES PANEL FOR PASSENGER SEAT FOR HOLDING PASSENGER BELONGINGS AND DEVICES
An amenities panel for a passenger seat includes a body and at least one convenience feature. The body includes an aft-facing side and is configured to connect to a backrest of the passenger seat. The amenities panel is configured to be positioned between a forward-facing side of the backrest and a stowed tray table.
PERSONAL DEVICE CARRIER AND A PASSENGER SEAT
A personal device carrier for a passenger seat. The personal device carrier has a backing plate integrated into a backside of the passenger seat and a folding tray assembly with a base adjustably coupled to the backing plate for vertical movement of the folding tray assembly relative to the backing plate. The folding tray assembly includes a tray rotationally mounted to the base and movable between a generally vertical stowed position and a generally horizontal deployed position for holding a personal device.
Systems and methods for sanitizing a tray table
A system for sanitizing a tray table may include a sanitation assembly operatively coupled to the tray table. The sanitation assembly includes an ultraviolet (UV) light source configured to emit UV light, and a sanitation control unit operatively coupled to the UV light source. The sanitation control unit operates the UV light source to emit the UV light onto the tray table when the tray table is secured in an upright position, and prevents the UV light source from emitting the UV light when the tray table is not secured in the upright position.
Vehicle seating assembly having extendable panel
A vehicle seating assembly is provided herein. The vehicle seating assembly includes a seat. A seatback is pivotally coupled to the seat. The seatback includes a rear-side. A panel is pivotally coupled to the rear-side of the seatback. The panel is pivotable to extend between a first position that is forward of the seatback and a second position that is rearward of the seatback when the seatback is in a forwardly-folded position.
Stowable table
A stowable table includes a table portion movable between a horizontal deployed position and a non-horizontal stowed position. The table portion may be configured to be stowed in a receiving structure. A holder may be configured to receive a liquid receptacle and rotatably coupled to the table portion about a pivot axis. The holder may also be slidably coupled to the table portion and slidable between a setback position in which the pivot axis is set back from an end of the table portion when the table portion is in the deployed position, and an aligned position in which the pivot axis is substantially aligned with the table portion end when in the stowed position.
Powered mechanized tray table assembly
A tray table assembly capable of automatically deploying from a stowed position in a vehicular seat back towards a use position within a passenger compartment of a vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a support structure adapted to be coupled to the seat back, a tray support and a tray subassembly supported for rotation about a rotational axis by the tray support. A bi-directional, electrically-powered linear actuator subassembly is mounted on the support structure and includes a motor-driven screw-drive and a threaded member mounted on the screw-drive to linearly move along a longitudinal axis of the screw-drive upon rotation of the screw-drive. The threaded member is connected to the tray support to lift the tray support to deploy the tray subassembly along a predetermined non-linear path upon rotation of the screw-drive in a first direction from the stowed position to the use position based on a deployment command signal.
DEPLOYABLE TRAY TABLE
A deployable tray table, of the type revolvingly constrained to a support and movable between a horizontal operating position and an upwardly rotated position, comprises a distal portion, near to the support, and a proximal portion which are placed side by side and adjacent, divided by a separation in which adjacent edges of the two portions are joined by means of respective hinges, so that the proximal portion could rotate by 180? from a folded position in a configuration with reduced overall dimensions, in which said hinges comprise each one a respective hinge pin retractable in the respective portion, so as to be able to disengage and separate the proximal portion from the distal portion.
THERMOPLASTIC TRAY TABLE WITH COMPLIANT FRICTION DEVICES FOR NON-SLIP OPERATION
A tray table which includes a top cover coupled to a bottom cover. The top cover has a recess and at least one aperture which extends completely through the top cover. A non-slip device is coupled to the recess via a variety of methods, including injection. The non-slip device prevents items from sliding along the top cover.
Portable electronic device positioning apparatus
Disclosed is a Personal Electronic Device (PED) positioning apparatus that stows within a tray table. An articulated holder includes a crossbar arm that slides on at least one support shaft to a position where a crossbar can be rotate to provide an angled surface relative to the tray table to support a PED. When stowed, the crossbar presents a minimal profile with respect to the tray table. The exposed surface of the crossbar can be made to match the color and appearance of the tray table so that the apparatus has minimal visual impact.
