Methods and systems are presented for accepting inputs into a vehicle or other conveyance to control functions of the conveyance. A vehicle control system can receive gestures and other inputs. The vehicle control system can also obtain information about the user of the vehicle control system and information about the environment in which the conveyance is operating. Based on the input and the other information, the vehicle control system can modify or improve the performance or execution of user interface and functions of the conveyance. The changes make the user interfaces and/or functions user-friendly and intuitive.

VEHICLE SYSTEMS CONFIGURED TO INTERACT WITH REMOTELY LOCATED SMART SYSTEMS
20240370627 · 2024-11-07 ·

Vehicle systems configured to interact with remotely located smart systems are disclosed. An example vehicle includes memory, machine-readable instructions, and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to send, from the vehicle to a smart system located remotely relative to the vehicle, a first message configured to cause the smart system to adjust one or more functions of a device controllable via the smart system. The one or more processors are further configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to receive, at the vehicle from the smart system, a second message including information associated with the smart system or the device.

Seat system for autonomous vehicles

Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a seat assembly, and corresponding method and computer readable medium, for adjusting a seat in an autonomous vehicle. The adjustment is provided such that a seat occupant may control the adjustment may providing a natural pushing force once the vehicle is in an autonomous driving mode.

Vehicle crate for blade processors

Methods, systems, and a computer readable medium are provided for a vehicle containing multiple blade processors for performing vehicle and/or infotainment tasks, functions, and operations. The blade processors can be included in a crate having a first communication zone defining a trusted network within the vehicle to connect with trusted computational devices and/or modules provided or certified by the vehicle manufacturer but not untrusted computational devices and/or modules provided by vehicle occupants, a second communication zone defining an untrusted network to connect with the untrusted computational devices and/or modules, and a third communication zone providing power and data transmission to the blade processors. A master blade processor can assign a component and/or module requiring a blade processor for execution to a selected blade processor.

Car seat child-aware alert system and application
09761114 · 2017-09-12 ·

A system and application to alert parents or guardians to the solitary status of a dependent accidentally left within the confines of a vehicle is described. The system alerts individuals in the event that a dependent such as a child is left behind via the use of sensors configured to detect the presence of the dependent, and determine if he or she is alone. Upon recognizing that the dependent has been left alone, an alert is sent to the parent or guardian's wirelessly connected key fob and/or mobile device via a proprietary mobile application. Simultaneously, the system employs an active display sticker, configured to calm or entertain the dependent left within the vehicle until the alerted parent or guardian returns.

GLOBAL STANDARD TEMPLATE CREATION, STORAGE, AND MODIFICATION
20170249095 · 2017-08-31 ·

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to create, modify, and maintain profiles associated with users. The user profiles are generated based on selectively collecting data associated with the users. Although each user profile may include settings, preferences, habits, and content associated with an individual user and/or vehicle, some user profiles may represent multiple users. These user profiles can change a configuration of a vehicle to match settings for a user, such as a driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for a user. Further, the user profiles can be transferred from vehicle-to-vehicle and/or user-to-user.

UNIVERSAL VEHICLE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

Methods and systems for a vehicle system that include determining whether a vehicle action is necessary and providing a notification to predetermined users. Sensors provide signals to a sensing control system to generate the notification.

CHILD CAR SEAT SAFETY ELECTRICAL ALARM SWITCH ASSEMBLY
20170182938 · 2017-06-29 · ·

This Child Car Seat Safety Electrical Alarm Switch Assembly was invented to eliminate a very serious problem that we have worldwide. The problem is that Drivers of Vehicles from time to time have the need to transport small Children in a Car Seat that is strapped into the Vehicle. Too often when some Drivers exit the Vehicles they forget that the Child is left in the Car Seat. Subsequently, when the Driver realizes that the Child was left in the Car Seat, it is often too late to save the life of the Child. Usually, the windows in the Car or Vehicle are closed tightly. When the Temperature is elevated, it gets extremely hot in the Vehicle. Therefore, the Child dies from Heat Exhaustion. When it is extremely cold, however, the opposite occurs and the Child dies from freezing to death. This invention prevents either of these from happening, since it alerts the Drivers that the child is in the Car each time he or she opens the Car Door. This Alarm System activates, even, while the Ignition Switch is in the Off Position. So, this leaves no occasion for the Driver to claim that he did not know that the Child was left in the Car Seat or that he forgot. The Alarm System is equipped with a Red Warning Light on the Dashboard which can clearly be seen when the Door opens and the Child is in the Car Seat. If one does not hear the Alarm Switch, he certainly will be able to see the Bright Red Light. Therefore, he will know that it is required to remove the Child from the Child Seat in the Vehicle before leaving the premises of the Vehicle. This, then, saves the life of the Child.

Vehicle operations based on biometric fingerprint analysis

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for enacting various driving profiles based on identifying the age and gender of the user. Initially, identifying information is acquired from a user of a vehicle. An identification program determines whether the driver is known, by comparing the identifying information to a set of stored identifying information. If the driver of the vehicle is known, as the identifying information from the user is similar to stored identifying information, then a specific driver profile associated with the specific driver is activated. If the driver is not known, as the identifying information from the user of the vehicle is not similar to the stored identifying information, then the age and gender of the user of the vehicle is determined. Based on the determined age and gender of the driver of the vehicle, various vehicle setting ranges are enacted.
