Novel Surface-Mountable Locking Device
A surface-mountable locking system is designed to secure an item to a surface via one or more mechanical engagements that are protected from tampering by encompassing the engagements point(s) within cavity-defining surfaces. In one example the mechanical engagement is effected by placing a pin in a box and securing the pin in the box using a bolt and the tampering protection is effected by the surfaces that define the box. In another example, the mechanical engagement is effected by placing a surface-attached anchor within a cavity and securing the anchor relative to the cavity using a bolt and the tampering protection is effected by the surfaces that define the cavity. The securing bolt may be, for example, the bolt of locking mechanism, a threaded bolt to engage a receptacle having complementary threads, or a smooth bolt to engage a receptacle having a shape complementary to that of the bolt.
Delivery vehicle and systems or parts thereof
In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to improve delivery vehicles with storage compartments for items and product containers. In some embodiments, the storage compartments have a plurality of horizontally-mounted support rails mounted on opposite sides of the storage compartment to receive the product containers and retractable retaining elements disposed adjacent ends of the support rails proximate storage compartment openings to help retain the product containers. In another configuration, the horizontally-mounted support rails are movable, such that the product containers supported by the support rails permit are movable. By one approach, the delivery vehicle includes a conveyor mechanism to move the horizontally-mounted support rails. In yet another embodiment, the delivery vehicle may include a temperature-controlled compartment for receiving product containers, a door providing access to the temperature-controlled compartment, and an insulating panel configured to retain air, such as chilled air, in the temperature-controlled compartment.
Cargo Management Device Integrated With Trim Panel
The present invention relates to a freestanding unit for securing items within the floor of a cargo area in a vehicle comprising a primary wall and at least one projecting wall extending from the primary wall which includes an anchoring component for anchoring the freestanding unit to the floor in the cargo area. The present invention also relates to a vehicular cargo management system that includes such freestanding unit where the trim panel includes a recess to accommodate the projecting wall of the freestanding unit which may then fit flush to the trim panel.
Cable reel restraint device
A cable reel restraint device comprises a cable reel, a retractable cable, first and second springs, first and second attachment interfaces, and a preload selection control. The retractable cable is configured to extend from and retract onto the cable reel. The first spring is configured to exert force for preloading the second spring, and the second spring is configured to exert force for retracting the retractable cable. The first attachment interface is coupled to the cable reel by a first spherical bearing, and the second attachment interface is coupled to the retractable cable by a second spherical bearing. Moreover, the first and second attachment interfaces are configured for being fastened to first and second attachment points. The preload selection control is configured to select a particular preload magnitude and cause the first spring to preload the second spring with a load of the particular preload magnitude.
Container-securing device
A system and method for securing a container to a transport surface is disclosed. The system includes a capture member and a locking member. The locking member is configured to be attached to the surface and to securely engage one end of the capture member. The capture member includes one end configured to securely engage the locking member and a second end configured to securely engage the container. The locking member is optionally configured to require a key to disengage the capture member from the locking member. The method includes attaching the locking member to the surface, disposing a container on the surface next to the locking member, and positioning the capture member such that it securely engages the locking member at one end and securely engages the container at the other end, and thereby secures the container to the surface.
Truck bed cargo organizer
The truck bed cargo organizer comprises a plurality of vertical wall panels that are hingedly coupled to each other to form a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment and the second compartment may share all or part of a common center wall panel. The front wall panel may be divided into a left front wall panel and a right front wall panel, each of which may pivot to open the front wall panel for easier access. A latch may prevent the front wall panel from opening when carrying cargo. One or more hinges at each joint between wall panels may allow the truck bed cargo organizer to fold flat for storage. A pair of straps may prevent the truck bed cargo organizer from sliding in the truck bed. Removable dividers may allow the compartments to be divided into subcompartments.
Reconfigurable chock assembly
A reconfigurable chock assembly for securing a motorcycle or other two wheeled vehicle in a trailer, truck bed or other similar arrangement. The chock assembly including a left wing and right wing connected by a plate to thereby engage the wheel of the motorcycle both above and below the axle and inhibit movement and tipping during transportation as well as when stationary. An attachment bracket includes clips designed to engage a track installed on the wall of the trailer or truck bed box. The track includes a plurality of slots to engage the clips allowing for the chock assembly to be located at reconfigurable locations along the length of the track. The attachment bracket allows the chock assembly to be quickly and easily repositioned along the length of the track.
RELEASABLE PAPERBOARD CHOCK ASSEMBLY
A releasable paperboard chock assembly is provided comprising first and second paperboard chocks, each comprising a base, a back wall, and first and second side walls adjacent to the base. Each of the first and second side walls comprises an upper edge surface having a generally curved portion to conform to a curved surface of a roll to be secured. A paperboard sling extends between the first and second chocks comprising first and second ends joined to the first and second chocks, respectively.
Intelligent lock for cargo handling system
A cargo handling system for restraining a unit load device includes a structural channel having a hollow interior, and a locking mechanism associated with the structural channel. The locking mechanism is movable to engage the unit load device. A motor assembly is coupled to the at least one locking mechanism. The motor assembly is operable to automatically move the at least one locking mechanism upon detection of the unit load device at or approaching a desired position adjacent the at least one locking mechanism.
Support chock
A support chock is provided and includes a chock front, a chock rear, a chock top, a chock bottom and a plurality of chock sides, wherein the chock top, chock bottom and plurality of chock sides define a chock cavity, a chock front opening and a chock rear opening, wherein the chock cavity communicates the chock front opening with the chock rear opening.
