09896024 · 2018-02-20 · ·

A tamper resistant and theft resistant light assembly for a tractor trailer or other vehicle that can be easily installed on the vehicle but cannot be removed without being broken. The light assembly may have one or more flexible projection fingers that deform to allow the light assembly to be mounted on the vehicle body plate by pushing the light assembly into an opening therein, but prevent the light assembly from being removed from the opening. The light assembly has a mounting ring that breaks away from the light assembly if an attempt is made to pry the light assembly out of the opening.

Photoluminescent printed LED molding

An illumination apparatus configured to seal and substantially conform to a roof ditch of a vehicle is disclosed. The illumination apparatus comprises a first electrode in connection with a seam of the roof ditch via an adhesive. A plurality of printed LEDs configured to emit a first emission and suspended in a semiconductor ink is disposed on a surface of the first electrode, and a second electrode is conductively connected to the plurality of LEDs. A photoluminescent layer is disposed on the second electrode. The illumination apparatus may be in communication with a controller via the first and second electrodes such that the controller may selectively activate the illumination apparatus.

Lighting apparatus and automobile having lighting apparatus mounted therein

An illumination apparatus includes an LED, a first lens unit provided above the LED and a cylindrical lens provided above the first lens unit. The first lens unit receives light from the LED and emits the light toward the cylindrical lens. The cylindrical lens emits the light to the outside.

System for mounting a lamp with respect to a surface of a vehicle

A system is provided for mounting a lamp having a plurality of different types of mounting members. One of the mounting members is a rigid tray mountable by fasteners flush upon a surface of a vehicle to enable an on-surface mounting mode, and other of said mounting members, such as a grommet or bracket, are mountable at least partially in an opening or hole when present along such surface of a vehicle to enable an inset mounting mode. The different mounting members each engage a common shape housing of the lamp, such as round or oval, so that by selection of one of the mounting members, on-surface or inset mounting of the lamp can readily be achieved. One or more common engagement features are provided along the housing to facilitate engagement of the housing of the lamp by mounting members in on-surface and inset mounting modes.

Rear tail light and turn signal assemblies are disclosed. The rear tail lights and turn signal assemblies are configured to work with existing housing and wiring and provide greater visibility, thereby improving safety. A tail light assembly comprises a housing defining an inner surface of the tail light assembly affixable to a body of a motor vehicle by a fastener, a light source positionable within an interior of the housing, a flexible light panel positionable over at least a portion of the light source, and one or more lenses positionable over the flexible light panel.

Light-transmitting assembly and vehicle

A light-transmitting assembly and a vehicle are provided in the disclosure. The light-transmitting assembly includes a light-transmitting substrate and a light source assembly. The light-transmitting substrate defines a mounting through-hole. The light source assembly is connected to the light-transmitting substrate and positioned at the mounting through-hole. The light source assembly includes a box, a lampshade, and a light-emitting element. The lampshade is detachably connected to the box. The lampshade and the box cooperatively define an accommodating space. The light-emitting element is received in the accommodating space. The light-transmitting assembly of the disclosure can be assembled and disassembled quickly and repeatedly, thereby realizing quick replacement of the light-emitting element.

A lighting insert is configured to adapt at least one spheroid lens to a hole in a vehicle body panel. The lighting insert defines a lens aperture configured to hold a corresponding spheroid lens of the at least one spheroid lens, and an annular recess configured to receive an accent ring. The lens aperture is substantially smaller than the hole in the vehicle body panel. The lighting insert is configured to form a water-tight seal with each of the vehicle body panel and the at least one spheroid lens. A lighting assembly includes a lighting insert configured to hold a spheroid lens and to cover a hole in a vehicle body panel. The lighting insert defines an annular recess and is configured to form a water-tight seal with each of the vehicle body panel and the spheroid lens. An accent ring is disposed within the annular recess.
