LIGHTING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE
A control system of a self-driving vehicle (SDV) can process sensor data from a sensor system of the SDV to autonomously control acceleration, steering, and braking systems of the SDV along a current route. Based on the current route, the control system can dynamically determine a set of immediate actions to be performed by the SDV. Based on the set of immediate actions, the control system can generate a set of intention outputs on a lighting strip of the SDV, the set of intention outputs indicating the set of immediate actions prior to the SDV executing the set of immediate actions.
THREE MODE POLICE MIRROR
A warning indicator system for a vehicle side-view mirror includes light sources disposed to emit light in patterns and/or colors visible through a partially light-reflective surface. One or more processors are operatively configured to actuate the light sources in predetermined sequences defining a stealth mode, a pursuit mode, and a traffic advisor mode. The partially light-reflective surface may be a light transmitting substrate having a coating of a reflective substance provided in a thickness allowing at least a partial transmission of light therethrough. The light sources may be printed light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Disposing the light sources in desired patterns to emit desired colors on actuation in a predetermined sequence allows configuring the side mirrors to emit visible light signals indicative of the stealth mode, a pursuit mode, and a traffic advisor mode.
LIGHT MODULE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LIGHT MODULE AND REAR VIEW DEVICE
The present disclosure refers to a light module, comprising a lens unit, which is formed with a bottom, a lid and one or more side walls between the bottom and the lid, wherein the one or more side walls provide one or more insertion openings; a printed circuit board unit, which carries one or more light sources and is inserted into the lens unit through a first insertion opening of the one or more insertion openings such that light emitted by the one or more light sources exits the light module through the bottom and/or the lid of the lens unit; and a housing unit, which is provided with a bottom opening, a lid opening and one or more side walls between the bottom opening and the lid opening, wherein the lens unit is arranged within the housing unit such that the bottom opening of the housing unit is closed by the bottom of the lens unit, the lid opening of the housing unit is closed by the lid of the lens unit, and the one or more insertion openings of the lens unit is closed by the one or more side walls of the housing unit. It also refers to an external rear view device with such a light unit.
Lighting device and rearview device for vehicles
A lighting device for a visual display in a rearview device of a vehicle includes at least one light element, at least one reflecting element which is included on or in a support element of the lighting device and is adapted to reflect incident light from the light element, at least one absorption element which is included on or in the support element of the lighting device and is adapted to absorb incident light from the light element, and at least one light guide element which is included on or in the support element of the lighting device and is adapted to collect and guide incident light from the light element, where the support element, the reflecting element, the absorption element or the light guide element are at least partially curved away from the light element.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL REARVIEW MIRROR
A multifunctional rearview mirror includes a casing having first and second receiving spaces. A mirror is mounted to one side of the casing that is formed with the first receiving space. The second receiving space is located under the first receiving space and has a front surface formed with first through-holes. A distance detection and alarm unit is arranged in the second receiving space and includes an ultrasonic distance detection module, an alarm light module, and a buzzer. The ultrasonic distance detection module is eclectically connected with the alarm light module and the buzzer. The alarm light module is arranged in the first through-holes. The ultrasonic distance detection module emits an ultrasonic wave, which is returned to the ultrasonic distance detection module by an object, so that a distance to the object is calculated and the alarm light module and the buzzer are activated according to the distance.
TRAVEL DIRECTION INDICATOR MODULE AND EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ARRANGEMENT
The present invention relates to a travel direction indicator module for an exterior rearview mirror arrangement for a motor vehicle having at least one light source, a first light conductor comprising a multiplicity of light decoupling points, and a second light conductor, wherein the light source couples a first beam part into the first light conductor at a first end and a second beam part into the second light conductor at a first end, and a module housing is formed as one injection molded part in common with the first light conductor and the second light conductor, which emits light into a single light decoupling area, which is arranged in an area of the second end of the first light conductor situated opposite the first end of the first light conductor, and an exterior rearview mirror arrangement having such a travel direction indicator module.
Illumination module for vehicle
An illumination module configured for mounting at a vehicle includes at least one illumination source and an optic. The optic is a three dimensional single formed optic that is formed such that, when the illumination source is operated and when the illumination module is disposed at a side of a vehicle, the optic provides projection of an icon, a logo and/or indicia at a ground region at or near the side of the vehicle. The optic includes one of (a) a lens optic configured such that light emitted by the illumination source, when activated, passes through the lens optic to provide projection of the icon, the logo and/or indicia, and (b) a reflector optic configured such that light emitted by the illumination source, when activated, reflects off the reflector optic to provide the selected projection of the icon, the logo and/or indicia.
INDICATOR OPTIC FOR VEHICLE LIGHTING MODULE
A lighting module for a vehicle is disclosed. The lighting module comprises a light source configured to generate a light emission in an emission direction substantially along a forward operating direction of the vehicle. A circuit is in connection with the light source. The lighting module further comprises an optic device comprising a body forming a receiving surface. The receiving surface is configured to receive an input emission of the light emission. The optic device is configured to transmit the input emission through the body, emit a first portion of the input emission along a primary path directed toward a passenger compartment of the vehicle, and emit a second portion of the input emission along a stray light path into a light trap formed by the body and arranged substantially opposite the light extraction surface.
Vehicular accessory system
A vehicular accessory system includes an attachment element adhered at an interior surface of a windshield of a vehicle and an accessory assembly attached to the attachment element. The accessory assembly includes circuitry disposed in the housing, the circuitry including a video camera. The video camera, when the accessory assembly is attached to the attachment element, has a field of view into the interior of the vehicle that encompasses the head of a potential driver of the vehicle. The video camera captures an image of the face of the potential driver and, responsive to image processing by image recognition software of the vehicular accessory system, the vehicular accessory system determines that the potential driver is an authorized driver who is authorized to operate the vehicle and, responsive to this determination, enables the ignition system to allow the motor of the vehicle be started.
