Systems, devices, and methods for a tailgate LED (light emitting diode) cap system, device and method, for attaching LED caps on top of truck tailgates as a safe and secure after-market or retrofit product. The LED cap can be easily attached to the tops of truck tailgates with fasteners but are not removable without unlocking locks covering the fasteners.

VEHICLE OPERATION DETECTION DEVICE

A vehicle operation detection device includes sensors laid out in a vehicle along an axis in an opening-closing direction of a door of the vehicle. When the user moves a part of a body toward the sensors and a motion of moving the part of the body along the axis is detected, the sensors detect an opening-closing operation for the door. The vehicle operation detection device further includes light-emitting members laid out in the vehicle along the axis in the opening-closing direction and an operation direction indicator configured to drive the light-emitting members in sequence in a first direction in a fully-closed state of the door and drives the light-emitting members in sequence in a second direction in a fully-open state of the door.

PATTERN PROJECTING LAMP OF MOTOR VEHICLE

The present disclosure provides a pattern projecting lamp and a motor vehicle-in particular, a motor vehicle comprising a pattern projecting lamp. The pattern projecting lamp comprises an optical module configured to provide a projection light beam having a pattern, a support comprising a base and a rotary arm connected rotatably to the base, wherein the optical module is disposed in the rotary arm, and the rotary arm is provided with a light exit for the projection light beam to be emitted through. The pattern projecting lamp can project a light beam having a predetermined pattern at a suitable angle, as tailored to display additional information or provide auxiliary illumination on the vehicle body of the motor vehicle or at a peripheral region of the motor vehicle.

Control and monitoring circuit for controlling lighting system

A control circuit includes a first light source, a second light source, an input channel for receiving an input signal, at most two output channels each configured to control one of the first light source and the second light source, where the control circuit is configured to use at most two cables, and is capable of permanently powering on one of the first light source and the second light source while, at the same time, flashing on and off the other of the first light source and the second light source.

Vehicular ground illumination light module

A vehicular ground illumination light module includes at least one light emitting diode and a freeform optic disposed in front of the emitting diode. The vehicular ground illumination light module, when disposed at a side of a vehicle, and when the light emitting diode is electrically powered so as to emit light through the freeform optic, illuminates a ground region at that side of the vehicle. The illuminated ground region includes an illuminated side ground region at least partially along the side of the vehicle and an illuminated rearward ground region rearward of a rearmost portion of the vehicle. The illuminated ground region is at least in part within the fields of view of a sideward-viewing side camera and a rearward-viewing rear backup camera disposed at the vehicle. A portion of the illuminated side ground region is illuminated with a luminance of at least 10 lux.

VEHICULAR ILLUMINATION SYSTEM WITH RECONFIGURABLE DISPLAY ELEMENT

A vehicular illumination system includes an illumination module disposed at an exterior portion of a vehicle. The illumination module includes a reconfigurable display element and a light source operable to emit light. When the light source is operated, light emitted by the light source passes through the reconfigurable display element and the illumination module projects an icon established by the reconfigurable display element. The reconfigurable display element is reconfigurable to form the icon responsive to one of (i) a user selection of an icon and (ii) programming of the reconfigurable display element for an icon. When the light source is operated, light emitted by the light source passes through the reconfigurable display element and the illumination module projects the icon of the reconfigurable display element onto a surface exterior of the equipped vehicle.

A vehicle service light. The vehicle service light may include a light configured to be mountable in a tailgate or rear hatch of a vehicle such that light emitting from the light is directed in a general direction of a trailer hitch/receiver mounted to the vehicle; and a wiring harness, wherein the wiring harness is configured to operatively connect the light to a vehicle power source.

Optical structures with off-state appearance area

A lightguide includes features for extracting light that would otherwise be confined and propagate within the lightguide primarily by total internal reflection. A first portion of light propagating within the lightguide and extracted exits the lightguide through a first area of the lightguide having an optical reflectance of at least 30% and an optical transmittance of at least 5% for normally incident light at a wavelength of the extracted light. A second portion of light propagating within the lightguide and extracted exits the lightguide through a different second area of the lightguide having an optical transmittance of at least 80% for normally incident light at the wavelength of the extracted light.
