Vehicle systems for providing alerts of opening doors are disclosed. A system includes a camera configured to output image data of a vehicle occupant, an external environment sensor configured to output an external environment sensor output signal, one or more processors communicatively coupled to the camera and the external environment sensor, one or more memory modules communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, and machine readable instructions stored in the one or more memory modules. The system receives the image data of the vehicle occupant, predicts whether a door of the vehicle is going to be opened based on the image data of the vehicle occupant, determines whether an object is present based on the external environmental sensor output signal, and generates an alert in response to predicting that the door of the vehicle is going to be opened and determining that the object is present.

Outside door handle and motor vehicle equipped with same

An outside door handle, in particular for a motor vehicle, having a handle body comprising an outer contour, having a light source received by the handle body for a front area lighting and/or for a door handle cup lighting, and having a diffuser for scattering the light irradiated by the light source into diffuse light that is inwardly arranged in the handle body at a spacing from its outer contour.

AMORPHOUS METAL APPARATUS

A method of forming and an apparatus that may include an amorphous metal shell having a visible surface and an opposed back surface, and a thermally conductive plastic member secured to the back surface. The apparatus may be a door handle for a vehicle. The apparatus may be formed by molding an amorphous metal shell having a visible surface and an opposed back surface, and molding a thermally conductive plastic member to the back surface.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE SEATING ARRANGEMENT
20200070715 · 2020-03-05 ·

A method for controlling a vehicle seating arrangement can include: detecting a current seat occupancy in a vehicle using a plurality of sensors installed in the vehicle; identifying a seat of the vehicle for a future passenger to occupy based on the detected current seat occupancy; unlocking, by an electronic control unit (ECU) of the vehicle, a door of the vehicle adjacent to the identified seat; and activating, by the ECU, a light of the vehicle proximate to the identified seat.

Vehicle door handle assembly with light module

A door handle assembly for a door of a vehicle includes a handle portion pivotally mounted at the handle region of the vehicle door. The handle portion is disposed at a pocket region of the handle region. A pocket lighting module includes at least one light emitting diode operable to emit light to illuminate the pocket region. The pocket lighting module is operable to emit different colors of light responsive to different triggers.

Flush comfort handle

The invention relates to a handle device (10) for a closing device (80) for a movable part (70), such as a door, flap or the like, of a vehicle (100) comprising a handle part (20) which can be supported in a movable manner relative to the movable part (70). The closing device (80) can be connected to the handle part (20) via a connection element (16), and the handle part (20) is used to actuate the closing device (80). The handle part (20) can be moved at least between a rest position (Ia) and an operating position (Ib). In the rest position (Ia), the handle part (20) can be designed to be flush with the outer contour of the movable part (70) in particular, and in the operating position (Ib), the handle part (20) can protrude from the movable part (70) such that the handle part (20) can be gripped by an operator. According to the invention, the handle part (20) can be moved from the operating position (Ib) into an additional trigger position (Ic), in which a mechanical actuation of the handle part (20) can be transmitted to the connection element (16), whereby the closing device (80) can be actuated.

Exterior compartment light

An apparatus, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a handle movable relative to a vehicle closure panel between an active mode and a stowed mode, and an illumination source incorporated into the handle. The illumination source illuminates the handle when in the active mode and illuminates a cargo area associated with the vehicle closure panel when in the stowed mode with the closure panel open. A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, moving the handle relative to the vehicle closure panel between the active and stowed modes, illuminating the handle when in the active mode, and illuminating the cargo area when in the stowed mode.

VEHICULAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20240101023 · 2024-03-28 ·

A vehicular communication system includes a near field communication device disposed at a vehicle. Responsive to a near field communication-enabled device being within a threshold distance of the vehicle, the near field communication device wirelessly receives a wakeup near field communication from the near field communication-enabled device. Responsive to the near field communication device wirelessly receiving the wakeup near field communication from the near field communication-enabled device, the near field communication device (i) wakes up and (ii) determines whether the near field communication-enabled device is an authorized device. Responsive to determining that the near field communication-enabled device is an authorized device, the near field communication device authenticates the near field communication-enabled device. Responsive to authentication of the near field communication-enabled device, and with the near field communication-enabled device being within the threshold distance to the vehicle, an electrically operable accessory of the vehicle is electrically operated.

Door Handle Assembly
