A vehicle seatbelt usage indicating device for indicating, to a person proximate to the vehicle, proper usage of a seatbelt includes a light emitter, which can be affixed to an exterior surface of a door of a vehicle. The light emitter is engageable to an electronic control unit of the vehicle so that the light emitter is operationally engaged thereto. The electronic control unit is positioned to receive a signal from a sensor engaged to a buckle of a seatbelt, which is integral to a seat positioned adjacent to the door of the vehicle. The sensor is positioned to detect insertion of a latch into the buckle. The electronic control unit is positioned to selectively actuate the light emitter to indicate, upon insertion of the latch into the buckle, proper usage of the seatbelt to a person proximate to the vehicle.

Vehicular exterior door handle assembly with illumination module

A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a handle portion, a light transmitting cover element disposed at least partially along a length dimension of the handle portion, and an illumination module having an illumination source. When the illumination source is electrically powered, light emitted by the illumination source passes at least partially along the length dimension of the handle portion. With the exterior door handle assembly mounted at a door handle region of a vehicle door and when the illumination source is electrically powered, light that passes at least partially along the length dimension of the handle portion is viewable by a person viewing the handle portion of the exterior door handle assembly. When the illumination source is not electrically powered, the illumination source is covert to the person viewing the handle portion of the exterior door handle assembly.

A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a ground illumination module or turn signal indicator that includes at least one light source operable to emit light when electrically powered. A near field communication device communicates utilizing a near field communication (NFC) standard. Responsive to a near field communication-enabled device being present exterior the vehicle, the near field communication device wirelessly receives a communication from the near field communication-enabled device and determines whether the near field communication-enabled device is an authorized device. Responsive to determining that the near field communication-enabled device is an authorized device, the near field communication device authenticates the near field communication-enabled device as an authorized device for communication with the near field communication device. When the near field communication-enabled device is within a threshold distance to the vehicle, the at least one light source is electrically powered.

VEHICLE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SYSTEM WITH LIGHT MODULE

A vehicular lighted exterior door handle system includes a lighted exterior door handle assembly having a light module, which includes a circuit board and at least three linearly arranged illumination sources at the circuit board. When the illumination sources are actuated, light emitted by each of the illumination sources is emitted outboard away from the door of the equipped vehicle. With the lighted exterior door handle assembly mounted at the door of the equipped vehicle, and when the illumination sources are actuated with the door of the equipped vehicle unlocked, the light module emits light in a first pattern. With the lighted exterior door handle assembly mounted at the door of the equipped vehicle, and when the illumination sources are actuated with the door of the equipped vehicle locked, the light module emits light in a second pattern that is different from the first pattern.
