Vehicle Seatbelt Usage Indicating Device
A vehicle seatbelt usage indicating device for indicating, to a person proximate to the vehicle, proper usage of a seatbelt includes a light emitter, which can be affixed to an exterior surface of a door of a vehicle. The light emitter is engageable to an electronic control unit of the vehicle so that the light emitter is operationally engaged thereto. The electronic control unit is positioned to receive a signal from a sensor engaged to a buckle of a seatbelt, which is integral to a seat positioned adjacent to the door of the vehicle. The sensor is positioned to detect insertion of a latch into the buckle. The electronic control unit is positioned to selectively actuate the light emitter to indicate, upon insertion of the latch into the buckle, proper usage of the seatbelt to a person proximate to the vehicle.
Liftgate lighting system
A liftgate lighting system for a vehicle includes a liftgate assembly having a first liftgate panel and a second liftgate panel. Each of the first liftgate panel and the second liftgate panel is operable between an opened position and a closed position. The second liftgate panel has a proximal end and a distal end. A sensor proximate to the proximal end of the second liftgate panel. The sensor defines a sensor field. A lamp assembly is coupled to the second liftgate panel. A controller is communicatively coupled to the lamp assembly. The controller activates the lamp assembly and the lamp assembly directs light to a ground area proximate to the second liftgate panel when the lower liftgate panel is in the opened position.
Vehicle door handle with enhanced lighting and touch sensors
A door handle assembly includes a handle portion disposed at a pocket region of the door handle region. The door handle assembly includes a plurality of touch sensors disposed at the handle portion that are linearly arranged along the handle portion. Each touch sensor has a respective touch sensitivity and generates sensor data based on the respective touch sensitivity and detection of a touch. The plurality of touch sensors includes at least two touch sensors having different respective touch sensitivities. A processor is operable to process the sensor data generated by the plurality of touch sensors. A controller, responsive to processing at the processor of the sensor data generated by the plurality of touch sensors, determines a touch event at the door handle assembly. The determined touch event includes a user touching the handle portion. The controller, responsive to detecting the touch event, locks or unlocks the vehicle door.
VEHICLE DOOR HANDLE HAVING A DISPLAY ELEMENT
A vehicle door handle includes an external visible surface having a display element. The display element includes a surface having a plurality of individually controllable pixels that are controllable via a control unit depending on a user interface. Displaying content on the display element of such a vehicle door handle involves the display content being predetermined or pre-stored display content retrieved via the user interface.
VEHICULAR EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH DUAL MODE ILLUMINATION MODULE
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a dual mode illumination module having a first light emitting diode (LED) operable to emit visible white light when electrically powered and a second LED operable to emit non-visible light when electrically powered. The first LED, when the vehicle is parked and the first LED is electrically powered, emits visible white light to provide visible ground illumination at a ground region at least partially along the side portion of the vehicle. Visible ground illumination by the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly at the ground region is locked-out during movement of the vehicle. The second LED, when the second LED is electrically powered, emits non-visible light to provide non-visible illumination for a camera viewing exterior and at least sideward of the vehicle. Non-visible light emission by the second LED is not locked-out during movement of the vehicle.
VEHICLE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
A vehicle configured for guiding an optimal digital key tag position to a digital key user and a method of controlling the vehicle may include a short-range communication module configured to receive a signal from a digital key within a preset distance ranging from the short-range communication module to the digital key; a lamp; and a controller connected to and configured to control the lamp and the short-range communication module based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the received signal. The controller may be configured to determine a reference range based on the RSSI of the received signal in a first mode, to control the lamp to provide information related to a position of the digital key according to the RSSI of the received signal and the reference range in a second mode, and to control the short-range communication module to transmit a signal regarding the position of the digital key to the digital key in the second mode.
VEHICULAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY WITH LIGHT PROJECTION AND GESTURE SENSING
A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a base portion configured to mount at an exterior door handle region of a vehicular door, a handle portion pivotally mounted at the base portion, and a light projection device. The handle portion is pivotable between a non-deployed orientation, where an outer surface of the handle portion is coplanar with an outer surface of the vehicular door at the exterior door handle region, and a deployed orientation, where the handle portion is pivoted inward into a door handle pocket within the vehicular door. The light projection device is operable to project an icon or character onto the outer surface of the handle portion when the handle portion is in the deployed orientation. The light projection device projects the icon or character responsive to the handle portion pivoting to the deployed orientation.
Motor vehicle lock
A motor vehicle lock comprising a lock housing, an electric power supply and at least one illuminant which can be connected to the electric power supply, emits light into a light-guiding element and can be placed directly on a circuit board located inside the lock housing.
VEHICULAR ILLUMINATION SYSTEM WITH RECONFIGURABLE DISPLAY ELEMENT
A vehicular illumination system includes a ground illumination module disposed at a side door of a vehicle. The ground illumination module includes a reconfigurable display element and at least one light source operable to emit light. When the at least one light source is electrically powered, light emitted by the at least one light source illuminates a ground region adjacent the vehicle. When the at least one light source is electrically powered, light emitted by the at least one light source passes through the reconfigurable display element and the ground illumination module projects an icon established by the reconfigurable display element onto the ground region. The reconfigurable display element is reconfigurable to form the icon responsive to programming of the reconfigurable display element for an icon.
